Joy Villa’s “Make America Great Again” dress has helped propel her album to a possible top 10 debut on the Billboard 200 Albums chart.
A relatively unknown singer made her mark at the 2017 Grammy Awards.
Everyone knew the Grammys were going to get political – like every other award show – but nobody thought the first political statement was going to be pro-Trump!
Singer Joy Villa shocked the paparazzi when she tore off a long white coat to reveal her red, white, and blue Make America Great Again gown on the red carpet of the Grammys. Just to emphasize the dress wasn’t being worn ironically, it had TRUMP spelled out in the back train in sparkly stones.
The singer posted pictures to Instagram with the inspirational message: “Sometimes you just gotta be free to express yourself. 😍✨🎶 thank you to all of my supporters and fellow believers. Life is about living free and loving it. Be your beautiful selves tonight!”
She also took to Twitter to stand-by her decision to wear a pro-Trump dress last night:

Just wait until they find out her pro-Trump dress designer is a gay immigrant! Designer Andre Soriano said of Villa:
“She is one of the people on this planet that really promotes love. We need to move this country forward, and we believe it’s time to promote love. We only live once, and we need to promote love. We have one president now who is going to do the best thing for planet America.”
As for the inspiration behind the pro-Trump dress, he says, “I heard that somebody wanted to bomb the White House. And then I saw the Women’s March. … Joy Villa is all about love with her music. I’m like, ‘ Joy, We have to make a statement on what is right for our country, of what we believe in, for the Constitution.'”
Her dress was a great PR move – after strutting her stuff on the red carpet, everyone now knows Joy Villa’s name. In fact, her 2014 album reached number 15 on iTunes.
