Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) is a conservative hero and has been busy stopping rumors he is retiring at the end of this Congress.

Conservative tea party activists want him to be in a leadership position after the retirement of Speaker John Boehner (R-OH). Gowdy is a firebrand who always speaks his mind, and is willing to expose corruption in the Obama administration.

When asked if he would run for Majority Leader, Gowdy fired back with the most definitive response imaginable, “I am staying on the Benghazi committee, period, exclamation point.”

Wow! Gowdy is so determined to expose former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s massive cover-ups during the Benghazi terror attack at the Libyan embassy, he’s willing to ignore the calls for his leadership to stay the chairman of the Benghazi committee.

Conservatives such as Rep. Mia Love (R-UT) and Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) have been quoted in various news outlets noting that Gowdy would make a great leader. After all, he developed great talents as a prosecutor and explains conservatism better than anyone in Congress.

Now it’s unclear who will challenge establishment Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), but it certainly won’t be Trey Gowdy.

What do you think of Gowdy’s bold announcement? Please leave us a comment (below) and tell us what you think!
