GOP Lambastes Democrats Over Failed First Night Of DNC 2020

The worst is yet to come over three more nights.

The reviews are in and from the president on down to the punditry, the consensus amongst the sane is that the first night of Democratic National Convention 2020 was a boring bust filled with lies and radical ideology.

President Trump weighed in on first-nighter Andrew Cuomo’s lack of truth on the coronavirus and the liberal governor’s own missteps: “Now AP estimates that the real Cuomo number of people killed because of his total incompetence is 11,000, not the 6000 that was originally thought!”

But the president wasn’t finished with Cuomo just yet, adding, “Cuomo, just like his brother Fredo, has not got a very good memory!”

In the New York Post, Michael Goodwin commented,

“The major unanswered question that the first night danced around is Biden’s fitness. He and running mate Sen. Kamala Harris are avoiding the press to an unprecedented degree, a decision doubly perplexing given that most of the media wants Biden to win and could be counted on to feed him only softball questions…

Thus, the campaign’s decision not to subject Biden even to friendly encounters suggests there is enormous concern about his incoherence and mental infirmities. So if he can’t campaign or even give interviews, how can he possibly be president?”

Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) emphasized the out-of-touch Democrats on their obsession with Hollywood: “Brilliant move! No one is more in touch with the challenges & obstacles faced by everyday Americans than actors & celebrities.”

And opinion on making C-List celeb Eva Longoria the emcee? Scathing.

“When I think of who in the United States is best positioned to present a major party’s nominating convention, the first person that comes to mind is definitely Eva Longoria,” said journalist Michael Tracey.

“Am I supposed to know why Eva Longoria is moderating?” writer Matt Taibbi quipped.

“Eva Longoria’s formula is very good: introduce representative of a pandered group; ask them how they are; after they respond, say ‘I’m sure other [members of pandered group] feel the same.’ Keep going until it’s over,” Katie Halper wrote.

“But seriously, at this rate, Will Scott Baio be headlining the 2024 Democratic Convention?” progressive commentator Nomiki Konst tweeted. Nah, Nomiki, Baio is a Republican.

“It was clear that this was for a crowd in Brooklyn, New York, rather than places like Beloit, Wisconsin,” Trump staffer Steve Cortes told Laura Ingraham on Fox News. “It was catering to Hollywood rather than the heartland.”

“And it was not a celebration of America, it was an indictment of America…” he added. “I will tell you as a proud American I did not even recognize the country that they were describing in this ridiculous long commercial that they put on tonight. They were describing some sort of dystopian racist hellscape.”

Cortes nails it. A bunch of Hollywood celebrities tell working Americans how horrible their country is, that was the message of the first night of this masochism festival. Let them continue with the message of “We hate America, but we love Hollywood,” and the writing will be all over the wall for November. It’ll be a script the Democrats won’t like.
