GOP Introduces Bill That Would Deport Immigrants Convicted Of Sex Crimes

Bill That Would Keep Immigrants Convicted Of Sex Crimes Out Of U.S. Introduced In The House

As the Biden administration’s illegal immigration crisis continues unabated, rising GOP star Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) has introduced a bill in the House that would deport any immigrants already convicted of sex crimes.

On the other side of the coin, people who have been convicted of sex crimes would not be able to legally enter the country, either, say on a green card.

The bill is titled the BE GONE Act, The Better Enforcement of Grievous Offenses By unNaturalized Emigrants would amend the Immigration and Nationality Act.

Stefanik said of the bill, “We must work to ensure sex criminals are stopped and deported immediately for the safety of our citizens. Border security is national security, and I am proud to work to keep our communities safe.”

Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA) originally introduced the Senate version of the bill – which also prohibits refugees convicted of sex crimes.

A Revolving Door For Sexual Predators

Problems with legal immigrants are one thing. Problems with unknown illegal immigrants are another.

As soon as Joe Biden’s massive influx of illegal immigrants began, so too did sexual predators. Many of those with sex crimes convictions have been deported and attempted to re-enter the U.S.

The numbers are fairly alarming. According to reports from the Border Patrol, 8,691 criminals have been caught at the border this year, some of them sex criminals.

However, the San Marcos Corridor News points out that the Border Patrol doesn’t have access to criminal records from other countries. The number of people caught who are also criminals could be much higher.

No Signs Of Slowing Down

The Biden administration continues to wink and nod at the millions of illegal immigrants coming across the border daily. Currently, in Texas preparations are being made for yet another “migrant caravan” heading to the border.

According to officials with the Panamanian government, a group that could number 60,000 is currently heading north to Texas.

Support for Rep. Stefanik’s bill has garnered support from former Trump administration officials like former acting Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Mark Morgan, and former acting Immigration and Customs Enforcement director Thomas Homan.
