Texas is home to many country music artists, so it’s no surprise that country music legend George Strait has announced plans for a Harvey relief effort “with the whole country music community.”

Strait was born just south of San Antonio in the small town of Poteet. He also has a home in Rockport, which was one of the places hardest hit by Hurricane Harvey. Strait tweeted that his friends and family have been personally affected by the storm:

Strait is not the only country music artist rallying to the cause. Granger Smith is donating 100 percent of the proceeds from his online store to relief efforts, and the Josh Abbot Band is selling a special t-shirt with all proceeds going to disaster relief.

Country music superstar Miranda Lambert, also a Texas native, is working with her MuttNation Foundation to help animals in need in the Houston area. The organization has already rescued 72 dogs:
