Former President George H.W. Bush just released a personal statement thanking various Houston-based organizations for his wife’s funeral. This message comes after Bush was admitted to the hospital after suffering from an infection earlier this week.

On the day he was admitted, the President’s office released the following statement, “President Bush was admitted to the Houston Methodist Hospital yesterday morning after contracting an infection that spread to his blood.”

A spokesperson later confirmed that Bush was responding well to medication.

Now, we have more confirmation that Bush is doing OK. His personal Twitter account just tweeted the following:

It’s a relief to see a personal message like that from the President!

The past week has been especially hard on the senior Bush, with the passing of his wonderful wife, and subsequent funeral. An infection only made things worse.

Thankfully, there are plenty of good-hearted Americans to wish Bush well:

Even more of a miracle, there are very few bad messages responding to the former President wishing him harm. That’s a relief, especially at a time when liberals love to spit on the graves of deceased conservatives.

All Americans, regardless of their political affiliation, should wish one another the best of health. That goes for the 41st president of the United States.
