Gas Prices Have Gone Up 35% Since Biden Announced ‘Major Effort’ To Lower Them

President Biden announced a “major effort” to lower the cost of gas for the American people in November. Since then, gas prices have shot up over 35%.

“Today, we’re launching a major effort to moderate the price of oil,” Biden said in a November 21st speech about “lowering prices for the American people.”

The President indicated his plan would “span the globe” and “ultimately reach your corner gas station, God willing.”

The speech came three months prior to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, indicating Biden was aware of skyrocketing gas prices well before he started pinning it on “Putin’s price hike.”

Gas Prices Way Up Since Biden Took ‘Major’ Action

President Biden’s speech alluded to his hard work in preventing gas prices from going up, indicating he had been “in calls and meetings with foreign leaders, policymakers” for weeks to combat the surge.

“And while our combined actions will not solve the problem of high gas prices overnight, it will make a difference,” he promised.

“It will take time, but, before long, you should see the price of gas drop where you fill up your tank,” Biden said, adding that the reason he was elected was “to look out for you.”

Today’s AAA national average of gas prices hit a whopping $4.60/gallon. On the day he gave that speech the national average was $3.40.

The result is a 35.3% increase since the much-heralded “major effort” to lower gas prices.

Just a Part of His ‘Incredible Transition’

One week after launching his major initiatives to lower the price of gas for the American people, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) embarrassingly celebrated a 2-cent drop with a deceptive chart.

“Thanks, [President Biden],” the DCCC tweeted regarding the one-week dip, despite gas prices at that point having already gone up by about a full dollar since Joe’s inauguration.

Last week, Senator Josh Hawley took Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm to task for spreading “utter nonsense” as she tried to defend Biden over skyrocketing gas prices.

“You can thank the activity of Vladimir Putin for invading Ukraine” for the rising prices, Granholm claimed.

“With all due respect, Madame Secretary, that’s utter nonsense,” Hawley (R-MO) fired back.

It’s also an admission that Biden’s “major effort” back in November was a major failure.

President Biden revealed, perhaps accidentally, that he views higher gas prices as an opportunity for America to undergo an “incredible transition” to ‘clean’ energy.

“When it comes to the gas prices, we’re going through an incredible transition that is taking place that, God willing, when it’s over, we’ll be stronger and the world will be stronger and less reliant on fossil fuels when this is over,” he told reporters at a joint press conference with Prime Minister Kishida Fumio of Japan on Monday.

The President, despite months earlier touting his “major effort” to lower gas prices, shrugged off blame in March and suggested there’s nothing his administration or our country can do about the situation.

“It’s going to go up,” he warned in March.

“Can’t do much right now. Russia is responsible.”

So much for being elected “to look out for you.”
