Frederica Wilson Laughs That Gold Star Widow Story Has Made Her a ‘Rock Star’

MIAMI, FL - OCTOBER 19: Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-FL) speaks about the death of Sgt. La David Johnson before attending a Congressional field hearing on nursing home preparedness and disaster response October 19, 2017 in Miami, Florida. The hearing comes in the wake of fourteen patient deaths at the Rehabilitation Center at Hollywood Hills, Florida, which lost power after Hurricane Irma struck Florida. The nursing home deaths remain under police investigation. (Photo by Joe Skipper/Getty Images)

She’s graduated from politicizing a private conversation between a Gold Star widow and the President of the United States to practically dancing on the grave of slain U.S. Army Sgt. La David Johnson.

Classy.

Democrat Rep. Frederica Wilson celebrated the attention she’s been receiving from the White House after claiming President Trump had called Myeshia Johnson and callously said her husband ‘knew what he signed up for.’

“I’ll have to tell my kids that I’m a rock star now!” she exclaimed between fits of laughter upon hearing that Trump’s Chief of Staff had addressed the controversy earlier in the day.

How sick do you have to be to think this is a laughing matter?

General John Kelly defended the President on the incident, having been in the same room when the phone call to Johnson was made, and said he believes the conversation was “completely appropriate” and “respectful.”

He reiterated those thoughts at an incredibly emotional press conference in which he described exactly what happens after a U.S. service member dies in combat, including the protocol for calling family members. He spoke from the heart. Kelly’s own son was killed in action in Afghanistan in 2010.

“John Kelly’s trying to keep his job,” Wilson responded. “He will say anything. There were other people who heard what I heard.”

Do you think the media will note that Wilson is now verbally attacking a Gold Star father, or will that fact elude them?

It takes a special kind of mental illness to turn a story about an American hero who lost his life in the line of duty while leaving behind a wife and children, into an opportunity to score cheap political points, as Wilson has.

Perhaps actor James Woods has found the exact diagnosis for Rep. Wilson – ‘Parasite Rodeo Clown.’

Careful Mr. Woods, if we learned anything from the Obama years it’s that rodeo clowns are racist.

Still …

It’s truly, truly sad that this Democrat seized upon the death of an Army Sgt. to further her Trump Derangement Syndrome.
