Fox News Hosts Say They Want Roy Moore To Lose

Alabama’s special election for Senate is today, and Fox News hosts Jesse Watters and Greg Gutfeld stated point blank on Monday’s episode of “The Five” that they want embattled Republican candidate Roy Moore to lose.

“I have a big problem with Roy Moore,” Watters said, before going on to complain about Moore’s “explosive rhetoric” and the “credible allegations of inappropriate behavior” against him.

Surely Watters has heard that one of Moore’s accusers, Beverly Young Nelson, has admitted to fabricating part of Moore’s infamous inscription in her high school yearbook. But that must not matter to Watters, who went on to argue that Moore would be a bad pick for Senate because no one would want to eat lunch with him and that’s just too awkward for the other lawmakers: “No one’s even going to want to sit next to him at the Senate lunchroom. It’s going to be very awkward and he’s just going to be hounded.”

Gutfeld then piled on Watters’s criticism of Moore, stating, “I hope this guy loses. And if you’re upset that I say that, that’s not on me. That’s on a team sport ideology that’s pernicious.” He went on to argue that Republicans have concluded that, while Moore is problematic, electing a Democrat would be worse.

On a related note, it was revealed late Monday that Democratic candidate Doug Jones has been funded by George Soros-backed super PACs all along.

Gutfeld may have a point about the “team sport ideology” of politics, but that doesn’t excuse him coming out as a member of the media – not to mention a host on a supposedly conservative news network – and proclaiming that he wants the Republican candidate to lose. Besides, if he really does want Moore to lose, that’s a bad strategy. Has he forgotten the results of the 2016 presidential election already?
