‘Fox And Friends’ Sound Off On Man Allegedly Setting Fox News' Christmas Tree On Fire

After a man set the Christmas tree in front of Fox News’ headquarters in New York City on fire, “Fox And Friends” cohosts Ainsley Erhardt, Brian Kilmeade, and Steve Doocy sounded off on the incident.

Perhaps not surprisingly, the suspect was released with no bail

The hosts let loose on the suspect during Wednesday’s broadcast of “Fox & Friends.”

‘Fox & Friends’ Blast Crime Wave In New York City

The Associated Press reported, “A man was charged with arson and other crimes Wednesday for setting fire to a 50-foot (15-meter) Christmas tree in front of Fox News headquarters in midtown Manhattan, police said.”

“The artificial tree outside of the News Corp. building that houses Fox News, The Wall Street Journal and the New York Post caught fire shortly after midnight, police said,” AP noted.

AP added, “Photos and videos from the scene show the fully decorated tree going up in flames.”

“This is personal to you too at home now,” Erhardt said, comparing the incident to increases in violent crimes in New York City and other cities.

“It’s a tree that unites us,” Erhardt added. “It brings us together.”

“It’s about the Christmas spirit,” she said.

Erhardt continued, “It is about the holiday season. It’s about Jesus. It’s about Hanukkah. It is about everything that we stand for as a country.”

Kilmeade also said that New York City has become “so out of control” amid the recent surge in violent crime.

Police Say Suspect A 49-year-old Homeless Man

Erhardt said that the tree will be rebuilt at some point.

Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott told The AP, “We will not let this deliberate and brazen act of cowardice deter us.”

AP reported that a “49-year-old man who police said was homeless was arrested on charges including criminal mischief, arson and trespassing. It wasn’t clear if he had an attorney who could comment on the charges.”

“Police said the man had a lighter, but it was unclear whether any accelerant was used,” the AP reported.

As noted earlier, the man was released already with no bail.

Leaving the courthouse, the suspect told reporters, “I didn’t do it.”
