Former Trump Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders Announces Run For Governor In Arkansas

Former White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced a bid to run for governor of Arkansas in 2022.

Former White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced a bid to run for governor of Arkansas in 2022.

She officially launched her campaign in a video posted on Twitter.

“With the radical left now in control of Washington, your governor is your last line of defense. In fact, your governor must be on the front line. So today I announce my candidacy for governor of Arkansas,” she said.

Sanders offered a sneak peek into what platforms she’ll run on, vowing to fight against “socialism and tyranny,” and for the “Second Amendment right to keep your family safe” as well as one’s “freedom of speech and religious liberty.”

“Our state needs a leader with the courage to do what’s right, not what’s politically correct or convenient,” she declared.

Former President Trump Supports Sarah Sanders’ Bid For Governor

Former President Trump has made nothing but glowing comments about Sarah Sanders ever since leaving his administration, even suggesting she run for governor.

“She is a very special person with extraordinary talents, who has done an incredible job!” Trump beamed last June. “I hope she decides to run for Governor of Arkansas – she would be fantastic.”

Sanders, whose father Mike Huckabee served as governor of Arkansas from 1996 to 2007, has been rumored to be contemplating a run in 2022 for some time.

“Multiple top Republicans in the state have already announced a bid,” CNN reports, “but she is widely seen as an early favorite for the position.”

Sanders Has Obliterated The Media – Repeatedly

Sanders made a name for herself among conservatives during her tenure by consistently swatting away liberal journalists pretending to be legitimate journalists.

She often had a field day in handling Jim Acosta of CNN.

Sanders once forced Acosta to walk out of the room when she refused to denounce the President’s statement that the media is the “enemy of the people,” accused him of finding it difficult “to understand even short sentences,” and even suggested that her whining kids have helped prepare her for dealing with him.

An op-ed by the staff at Forbes earlier this month threatened companies who plan to hire members of President Trump’s inner circle, like Sarah Sanders, that they will immediately be dismissed by the magazine as liars.

Forbes accused Sanders of “smearing those who accused Trump of sexual harassment to conjuring jobs statistics.”

Arkansas typically veers right, with the state backing Trump with more than 62% of the vote in November.
