Former President George H. W. Bush Gets Hospital Visit From a High Level Delegation

On Tuesday it was announced that former President George H. W. Bush had been admitted to Houston Methodist Hospital, and the country all sent its prayers.

The 92-year-old WWII hero is still in the hospital recovering from pneumonia, but he just got a special visit from “a high level delegation” – none other than his son, former President George W. Bush!

The two former presidents together form a very high level delegation indeed! It is wonderful to see the presidential father and son together and smiling, and I’m glad Bush 43’s visit boosted Bush 41’s morale. The mutual love and respect between the two men is clear.

President H. W. Bush, admitted last Friday, has now been in the hospital for a week.

According to CNN:

His spokesman, Jim McGrath, confirmed the return to the hospital in a statement on Tuesday, adding that Bush was taken to the hospital due to a cough that prevented him from sleeping. The cough turned out to be due to pneumonia, which has been treated and resolved, McGrath said….

A source close to Bush told CNN’s Jamie Gangel the former President is receiving IV antibiotics and will probably be kept at the hospital for a few more days for observation. The source said the Bushes had not previously announced the hospital visit because they did not want to worry anyone over the Easter weekend.

Although the former president has been in and out of the hospital the last several years and in a wheelchair due to a form of Parkinson’s disease, he still is very active – including skydiving at age 90!

H.W. was hospitalized for more than 2 weeks in January for pneumonia, but a few days later still managed to make a special appearance at the Super Bowl in Houston for the coin toss.

Another former president recently spent some time visiting him in Houston – President Bill Clinton was there on April 9th and gave Bush 41 one of his favorite things: colorful socks!

Best wishes to President George H. W. Bush for a speedy recovery and many more fun, colorful socks!

H/T: Twitchy

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Bush family and we hope the former president gets well soon!
