Florida Governor Ron DeSantis took a cue from Texas Governor Greg Abbott, and sent two planes full of illegal immigrants to deep blue Martha’s Vineyard Wednesday, prompting local authorities to declare an “unexpected urgent humanitarian situation.”
His office confirmed the move in a statement to Fox News Digital.
“Yes, Florida can confirm the two planes with illegal immigrants that arrived in Martha’s Vineyard today were part of the state’s relocation program to transport illegal immigrants to sanctuary destinations,” DeSantis’ office stated.
The location is widely known to be a playground for rich and famous progressives.
CNN reports that roughly 50 illegal immigrants had been flown to the area.

Ron DeSantis, in flying two planes of illegal immigrants to so-called ‘sanctuary destinations,’ joins Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Arizona Governor Doug Ducey in utilizing the tactic.
Abbott (R-TX) and Ducey (R-AZ) have been sending illegal immigrants via bus to various blue cities that have proclaimed themselves “sanctuary cities.”
It’d be amusing if it weren’t so sad. What is humorous, however, was the reaction of officials in Martha’s Vineyard to the news that their borders had been crossed, so to speak.
Massachusetts state Sen. Julian Cyr, a Democrat who represents Martha’s Vineyard, whined that there was “no advance notice” that they were coming and that the island had to “scramble(d) to respond.”
Huh. Just like border states and cities have been forced to do for decades.
Officials with the Dukes County Emergency Management Association tweeted a call for volunteers and shelters citing an “unexpected urgent humanitarian situation.”
Funny how things only become urgent and a humanitarian crisis when the illegal immigrants interrupt vacation in Martha’s Vineyard.

All of these blue city Democrats are hypocrites for their reaction to illegal immigrants being bused or flown into their locations. But the hypocrisy over the flights is especially rich.
Not one of them made a peep when a police video surfaced in January showing the Biden administration having illegal immigrants flown by federal contractors into an airport in upstate New York in the dead of night.
The video shows federal contractors explaining to a police officer in charge of security at the facility that the flights, which have reportedly been conducted at the Westchester County Airport since August, are to be “on the down-low.”
“The government is betraying the American people,” one contractor can be heard telling a police officer.
Any idea how many Democrats were upset about the lack of advance notice on those planes arriving in Westchester County? The number rhymes with Nero.
Ron DeSantis in February had a crowd break out in cheers when he warned that he’d be sending illegal immigrants to President Biden’s home state of Delaware.
“Since I became governor, we banned sanctuary cities in the state of Florida,” DeSantis declared in a speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Florida.
“And we are in the process of getting money from the state legislature so that if Biden is dumping illegal aliens into Florida from the southern border, I’m rerouting them to Delaware,” he said to a boisterous ovation.
