On Saturday, Dr. Anthony Fauci, top White House doctor and head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said that if right-wing reporting on vaccines had existed in the past, diseases like smallpox and polio would have never been eradicated.
Fauci made his comments during an interview on CNN’s “Newsroom”

Fauci: We ‘Would Still Have Polio In This Country’
CNN host Jim Acosta said to Fauci, “The most-watched television show on Fox News right now is outright hostile to the vaccine.”
“In this environment, do you think we could have defeated the measles or eradicated polio if you had Fox News night after night warning people that these vaccine issues that are just bunk?” Acosta asked.
Fauci replied, claiming that “false information” would have ensured the survival of smallpox and polio:
“Well, that is a very good point, Jim. If you look at the extraordinary, historic success in eradicating smallpox and eliminating polio from most of the world — and we’re on the brink of eradicating polio — if we had the pushback for vaccines the way we’re seeing on certain media, I don’t think it would have been possible at all to not only eradicate smallpox, we probably would still have smallpox, and we probably would still have polio in this country if we had the kind of false information that’s being spread now.”
Fauci added, “If we had that back decades ago, I would be certain that we’d still have polio in this country.”
On Thursday, Surgeon General Vivek Murthy issued an advisory calling health ‘misinformation’ an “urgent threat.”
Murthy said in a statement that misinformation “can cause confusion, sow distrust, and undermine public health efforts, including our ongoing work to end the COVID-19 pandemic.”

CDC Chief Walensky: ‘Becoming A Pandemic Of The Unvaccinated’
Similarly, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Rochelle Walensky, said Friday that COVID-19 is “becoming a pandemic of the unvaccinated.”
Walensky was noting that most recent coronavirus cases and deaths have happened to those who have not received vaccines.
Interestingly, the Texas Democrats who recently fled their state to Washington, D.C. are all fully vaccinated, yet five among the group have all come down with COVID.
