EXCLUSIVE: I Went to Ancient Aliens, And It Showed Me What Unites Humanity When Everything Else Divides Us

ancient aliens what unites us

I’m a birthday person; I spend my birthday doing what I want, watching what I want on television, and eating what I want. I’m not all that into big parties or big gifts; in fact, most of my birthdays when I was in the service I spent working.

However, last week for my 40th birthday, I spent the day away from home in Arizona, attending none other than an Ancient Aliens Live event. In all fairness, this was technically for work as they had granted me press access for the event, but it was also quite the birthday gift.

You see, I’ve long been a consumer of “Ancient Aliens” marathons on The History Channel, and if you follow me at all, you know that as Close Encounters of the Third Kind fanatic and a member of the “X-Files” generation, I am a hopeful skeptic believer that we are not alone in this vast universe.

So while the event had plenty of fascinating nuggets about various exotic travel destinations and speculation about our origins, some other underlying themes struck me and are worthy of note.

Who Is Insulting Whom

Ancient alien theorists, ufologists, and fans of the show are often met with skepticism at best and ridicule at worst from the mainstream scientific community. I can understand that pain; at this point, mainstream anything is pretty closed-minded and repressive – mainstream media, mainstream science, mainstream education, you name it.

The show’s main figurehead Giorgio Tsoukalos touched on this struggle at the event, mentioning that mainstream archaeologists often accuse him of:

“undermining human ingenuity”

If you aren’t familiar with Giorgio, he’s the one with the hair. As someone who sports a purple mohawk, I believe the bigger and crazier, the better, so rock on with your crazy hair Giorgio. The allegation that he and others from the show are forced to hear is due to their belief that many structures and advances in ancient civilization were influenced by help from ancient aliens.

At the event, Giorgio illustrated just how ridiculous mainstream archaeologists’ arguments against the ancient alien theory are by focusing on petroglyphs. Petroglyphs are those fantastic ancient drawings seen on cave walls and rock surfaces worldwide.

Mainstream archaeologists would like you to believe that what we could consider “normal” scenes – animals, people, etc. – were legitimate observations. However, the drawings that look like space aliens and spaceships are, as Giorgio said, “fantasy” according to these same mainstream archaeologists, and these ancient people used these drawings and subsequent stories to “explain away nature.”

Giorgio rightly points out:

“But these people lived in nature! So who is insulting whom?”

Indeed. But it’s easy to explain away the unknown by just saying our ancestors were too primitive, which is an interesting argument coming from the same camp that says the likes of Giorgio insult the idea of ancient human ingenuity. Just how primitive can one be while building the ancient pyramids at Giza?

Coincidence

Before you roll your eyes at me, let’s chew on a few of these little mind nuggets that the show and the live event touch on. Structures from the temples of Malta to Stonehenge, to the heads at Easter Island, and the incredible structures found at Puma Puncu are structured and built in a way that defies our current architectural engineering.

Don’t believe me? That’s fine, believe aerospace engineer, Ancient Aliens panelist, and Skinwalker Ranch experimenter Dr. Travis Taylor. Perhaps you love pyramids; I get it; I’ve been to see them, and they are amazing.

Explain how, as Dr. Taylor lays out, the ancient Egyptians managed to construct the giant pyramid of Giza on the exact latitude that matches the digits of the speed of light:

29.9792458°N and 299,792,458 meters per second

That’s a pretty damn crazy coincidence, which is precisely how mainstream science likes to try to explain away these questions.

But let’s bring it closer to today, shall we? Besides the growing list of unexplained phenomena experienced by astronauts and cosmonauts throughout the years, there is one data point that the Ancient Aliens show points out that you can’t ignore.

When astronauts go into outer space, their circadian rhythm changes from a 24-hour day to a 24.9-hour day. No big deal, right? I mean, jet lag is a bitch for anybody.

But a day on Mars is exactly 24.9 hours. My, that is strange; why would our bodies automatically revert to the exact circadian rhythm of Mars when away from Earth’s surface?

Perhaps my brother was right when he claimed I was a Martian when we discovered I had one hanging earlobe and one attached earlobe…

A Much-Needed Reminder

All joking aside, plenty of interesting theories and questions posed by the “Ancient Aliens” cast and panelists during the live events are equally perplexing as they are fun to contemplate.

But as someone who spends her days opining and reporting on the various divisive issues in this world that put our differences in stark perspectives, my favorite message from the show was a little less rooted in close encounters and more focused on each other.

When you think of ancient civilizations and the show “Ancient Aliens,” you can list numerous themes:

  • Rock formations like Stonehenge
  • Petroglyphs
  • Religious stories and cultural fables touching on ‘visitors from above’

The exciting aspect for me is that these are all things that all of our ancient ancestors share. Many ancient civilizations spoke to ‘beings’ coming from the sky that taught various subjects to us:

  • Astrology
  • Astronomy
  • Weaponry
  • Medicine
  • Art
  • Metallurgy
  • Architecture

Ancient Aliens panelist and spiritual contributor William Henry calls these beings our teachers, and he believes they are coming back.

Mr. Henry explains that he believes “The Book of Revelations is merely a preamble.”

What a great message of hope and an exciting view that believing in something greater than yourself and alien life are not mutually exclusive. We live in a time when we are constantly required to focus on the things that divide us, the aspects of ourselves that are fundamentally different than our neighbors.

However, Ancient Alien theorists remind us, whether you believe in their theories or not, that from the time of our creation, we have all been linked with the fundamental similarity of the human experience. How else do you explain various rock formations throughout the planet across different civilizations, similar origin stories, and drawings and carvings painted across the rock walls of this blue marble?

Could It Be?

Ancient Aliens asks a simple question; Could it be? We should all ask this question more often than we do in various aspects and industries.

Could it be that we haven’t learned everything there is to know about our past? Could it be that the science isn’t settled but is actually ever-changing?

Whether you are a skeptic, a believer, or a bit of both like me, you can glean quite a bit from watching “Ancient Aliens” and attending one of the live events. The world is filled with so many doom and gloom narratives, so why not spend some time expanding your mind and what you think you know to explore possible alternatives?

“Ancient Aliens” has it all; scientists, former government officials, journalists, and ancient alien theorists. I started out enjoying the show for the exotic locations. Over the years, I found myself enjoying the questions it forces me to explore occasionally.

The topic of aliens and UFOs is no longer a fringe side hobby in dark corners of the internet. Our own government has been and is now openly investigating this phenomenon as a matter of national security, something I never thought would happen in my lifetime.

It makes you wonder, could it be that our past isn’t what we have been made to believe it to be by the mainstream? I say, why not?

The mainstream hasn’t done much for us anyway; perhaps it’s time to ditch the mainstream and believe that just maybe, we are not alone, we were never alone, and that someday perhaps soon, we will reconnect with our ancient alien teachers.

Now is the time to support and share the sources you trust.
