Eric Trump Slams Exhibit That Mocks His Sister Ivanka

Eric Trump, a son of President Donald Trump, blasted the people behind the outrageous art exhibit featuring an Ivanka Trump look-alike vacuuming as visitors toss crumbs at her. He slammed the group’s “hypocrisy” during an interview on Tuesday on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends.”

Ivanka Trump is President Donald Trump’s eldest daughter and an adviser to the president.

The Flashpoint Gallery in Washington, D.C., is housing the controversial exhibit called “Ivanka Vacuuming” by Jennifer Rubell from February 1-17.

The exhibit features a model who looks like Ivanka Trump and is dressed in a pink dress with stilettos.

As she vacuums a pink carpet, onlookers are encouraged to throw breadcrumbs at the Ivanka look-alike for her to then clean up.

“Inspired by a figure whose public persona incorporates an almost comically wide range of feminine identities — daughter, wife, mother, sister, model, working woman, blonde — ‘Ivanka Vacuuming’ is simultaneously a visual celebration of a contemporary feminine icon; a portrait of our own relationship to that figure; and a questioning of our complicity in her role-playing,” the CulturalDC website read.

Kristi Maiselman, CulturalDC’s executive director, said in a statement that Rubell’s “insightful work is perfect for the artistically savvy and civic-minded D.C. crowd.”

“We’re always happy to provide a platform for timely, boundary-pushing installations like ‘Ivanka Vacuuming,'” she also said.

Rubell, the artist, explained her bizarre take on her creative work in a statement: “Here is what’s complicated: We enjoy throwing the crumbs for Ivanka to vacuum. That is the icky truth at the center of the work. It’s funny, it’s pleasurable, it makes us feel powerful, and we want to do it more.”

“We like having the power to elicit a specific and certain response. Also, we know she’ll keep vacuuming whether we do it or not, so it’s not really our fault, right?” Rubell added.

But Ivanka Trump’s brother, Eric Trump, rebuked the gallery for housing such an insulting exhibit featuring his sister.

“I want to frame that image, just because I think it’s important,” Eric Trump said. “These leftists called up a modeling agency saying, ‘You know what? I want to get a nice woman to come stand on a carpet so our people — with a vacuum, of all things —  so our people can throw food and crumbs to mimic a powerful woman who has done more for women than probably anybody in Washington, D.C.'”

“Think about that hypocrisy,” he added. “They label themselves as a party of women, yet they are throwing food, they are throwing garbage, at a woman on a carpet holding a vacuum cleaner to mimic somebody who really does care and has fought so hard for women.”

“You know what, guys? I say keep doing it — keep going … They are losing people with this nonsense, with this craziness,” Eric Trump continued.

Ivanka Trump herself took to Twitter on Tuesday to react to the exhibit, retweeting an article and a picture from The Hill.

“Women can choose to knock each other down or build each other up. I choose the latter,” Ivanka Trump wrote.

Rubell herself replied to Ivanka Trump’s tweet.

“Ivanka, I would encourage you to see the piece and form your own direct response,” Rubell wrote.

“I would be happy to arrange for you to do it alone with none of the media circus that has formed around it. Not knocking anyone down. Exploring complicated subjects we all care about.”
