Remember when boycotting the Inauguration was all the rage? Well, Democrats are still quite bitter a year later it seems, and one congressman has begun what will likely turn into a trend for those on the left – boycotting the State of the Union.

Oregon Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D) has become the first Democrat to announce he will take his ball and go home will throw a temper tantrum will boycott President Trump’s State of the Union address.

Blumenauer, who to anyone’s best knowledge has no advance copy of the SOTU speech, said it would be “another destructive, divisive speech by Trump.”

“I will not attend this year’s annual address to Congress,” he announced. “Instead, like I did during his inauguration, I’ll be working at home listening to Oregonians about what they think about the State of the Union!”

This is what happens when you put a Bill Nye the Science Guy body double in Congress, people!

The best part is he’s clearly bragging about the boycotts of the SOTU and Inauguration, like a proud winner of the jackpot of jackassery.

Blumenauer won’t be home listening to Oregonians. He’ll be at home devising new ways to remove President Trump from the White House. He’s spent a good chunk of his time this past year playing the role of Oregon’s version of Maxine Waters, except a lot less rational.

In February, he tried to alter the 25th Amendment to the Constitution to possibly provide for impeachment of a President who is deemed ‘unstable.’

And in April he introduced a bill that would allow former presidents to have a say in removing the current President.

The bill was designed to “empower former presidents and vice presidents of both parties, in coordination with the sitting vice president, to determine if a president is fit for office.”

How can one possibly know what a President’s agenda will be, or if he’s fit for office or not, if you don’t attend the speech you already assume will be divisive? That, itself, is divisive!

Do you think other Democrats will follow suit and boycott the State of the Union? Tell us what you think below!
