Durham’s Russia Probe Nabs A Big Fish – ‘Primary’ Figure In Steele Dossier Flap Arrested

Igor Danchenko, a key player in the infamous anti-Trump Steele dossier, has been arrested as part of a probe by Special Counsel John Durham into the origins of the Russian collusion probe.

Danchenko is described by the New York Times as “the primary researcher of the so-called Steele dossier.”

The Steele dossier, they add, is “a compendium of rumors and unproven assertions suggesting that [former President Donald Trump] and his 2016 campaign were compromised by and conspiring with Russian intelligence officials … to help him defeat Hillary Clinton.”

‘Rumors and unproven assertions’ that the mainstream media presented as fact for four straight years.

USA Today reports that the associate of former British intelligence officer Christopher Steele has been taken into custody and will likely make his first court appearance this afternoon.

Igor Danchenko – Another Durham Investigation Arrest

RealClearInvestigations has described Igor Danchenko as being little more than an oft-inebriated chatterbox that the FBI relied on for vital information in a Steele dossier that would undermine Trump throughout his presidency.

Danchenko, they write, “was a hard-drinking gossip who had worked for the Brookings Institution, a Democratic Party think tank.”

“It turns out the anti-Trump rumors he fed Steele — in exchange for cash — was dubious hearsay passed along over drinks with his high school buddies and an old girlfriend.”

The outrageous information in the dossier helped support a surveillance request for former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.

Democrats admitted to indirectly funding the opposition research during the 2016 general election campaign.

Hillary Clinton, you may recall, outed her lawyer, Elias, as having paid for the infamous Steele dossier.

“It [the Steele dossier] was research started by a Republican donor during the primary, and then when Trump got the nomination for the Republican Party, the people doing it came to my campaign lawyer [Elias] and said, ‘would you like us to continue it?'” she confessed.

“He said yes,” Clinton continued during an interview on Comedy Central. “He’s an experienced lawyer, he knows what the law is, he knows what opposition research is.”

Details Of The Indictment

Details of the indictment against Igor Danchenko are emerging, including his arrest on “five counts of making false statements to the FBI.”

One of the allegations includes Danchenko having made a false statement about being in contact with “a long-time participant in Democratic Party politics.”

First, DANCHENKO stated falsely that he had never communicated with a particular U.S.-based individual – who was a long-time participant in Democratic Party politics and was then an executive at a U.S. public relations firm (“PR Executive-l”) – about any
allegations contained in the Company Reports. In truth and in fact, and as DANCHENKO well knew, DANCHENKO sourced one or more specific allegations in the Company Reports anonymously to PR Executive-l.

Danchenko also purportedly fabricated an anonymous call in which an individual made “the allegation that there were communications ongoing between the Trump campaign and Russian officials and that the caller had indicated the Kremlin might be of help in getting Trump elected.”

The arrest of Igor Danchenko comes just one month after the indictment of Michael Sussmann, a lawyer that formerly represented the Democrat National Committee (DNC) and has ties to Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign.

Sussman had provided what was supposed to have shown evidence of secret communications between then-candidate for President Trump and Russia.

The FBI would eventually determine “those concerns had no merit,” the New York Times reported, and Sussmann was indicted on a charge of lying to the FBI when he insisted he wasn’t providing the information on behalf of any client.

The indictment stated that in reality, Sussman knew “he was acting on behalf of specific clients, namely, Tech Executive-1 and the Clinton Campaign.”

That makes two individuals who have lied about conducting the Steele dossier work on behalf of Democrats. When will the actual Democrats who were involved be charged?

Prior to that, Kevin Clinesmith, one of the FBI officials involved in gathering evidence in the Russia investigation, pled guilty after he was accused by the Inspector General of altering an email about Page.
