Anti-religious leftists lashed out at NFL quarterback Drew Brees after he took part in a video encouraging Christian students to participate in Bring Your Bible to School Day.
The legendary Saints play-caller was promoting an event sponsored by Focus on the Family, a group associated with controversial conversion therapy techniques.
“I want to encourage you to live out your faith on Bring Your Bible to School Day and share God’s love with friends,” Brees encouraged in the video. “You’re not alone.”
Fox News reports that Godless liberals almost immediately began “accusing the former Purdue University star himself of being anti-gay,” and he was forced to issue a clarification on his commitment to equality.

Brees had to explain to the hateful anti-religious critics that promoting the Bible is actually a means of showing love for all groups of people.
“Love, Respect, and Accept ALL,” he insisted. “I encourage you not to believe the negativity you read that says differently. It’s simply not true.”

“I do not support any groups that discriminate or that have their own agendas that are trying to promote inequality,” Brees added.

It will be interesting to see if the NFL rallies around one of their star players or leaves him to get verbally harassed online.
Former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow was frequently mocked for his faith by sports analysts, stirring up controversy with his own advertisement backed by Focus on the Family. That ad was a touching tribute to his mother for choosing life.
Tebow was also frequently mocked and ridiculed by fellow players and the media for his display known as “Tebowing,” in which the quarterback would take a knee to thank God for his abilities.
He was kneeling for the right reasons though.
The NFL took issue with Tebow’s eye black bible verses, citing uniform policies, but fully promoted a “My Cause, My Cleats” campaign in 2017, in which Tennessee Titans wide receiver Rishard Matthews wore cleats honoring Colin Kaepernick.
Guess ‘social justice’ only applies to a certain group of people.
Will Brees continue to get shellacked for having pro-God or pro-Bible views?
“Being a Christian is love, it’s forgiveness, it’s respecting all, it’s accepting all,” he told reporters in an effort to tamp down the leftist-generated controversy.
