Conservative hero Dr. Ben Carson was warmly welcomed at the Iowa State Fair over the weekend as he made his case for American greatness. He said we must unify around the critical issue of religion and God. Dr. Carson believes Christians should never be ashamed of their faith, and it’s more important than ever that we speak out about the Almighty!
Carson reminded us that while the secular left and the ACLU is working tirelessly to remove all mentions of God, we still have references to Him in the Pledge of Allegiance, in our courtrooms, and on our money. We must not allow the secular left to win the battle for America’s soul:
“We have to stop listening to these people who tell us that we cannot talk about God, we cannot talk about our faith,” the retired neurosurgeon said.
“I wonder, do they realize that our founding document, our Declaration of Independence, talks about certain inalienable rights given to us by our Creator – aka God?” he asked.
Carson went on to note the key references to God in the pledge of allegiance, on the walls of U.S. courtrooms, and on coins and banknotes.
“So, if it’s in our founding documents, it’s in our pledge, it’s in our courts and it’s on our money, but we’re not supposed to talk about it, what in the world is that?” he said. “In medicine we call it schizophrenia, a form of craziness.”

Crack a book about our founders and you will find that our founders were NOT Deists! They did, in fact, believe in God and His active role in our lives! THANK GOD for men like Ben Carson!
Wow, you are the first atheist that I’ve ever heard say something like that. Rarely does an atheist wish freedom of religion on every religion, including Christianity. I really respect the attitude you approach this topic with. I happen to agree with your statement on religious freedom, just, oddly, from the perspective of Christianity. We need more opinions like yours in our politics.
I sure wish I’d proofread my comment better before I posted it. The lack of an edit function is a PITA. “I am A fiscally conservative atheist.” “So please be careful when you’re wielding that BRUSH that you don’t paint too wide a swath.”
There! My OCD is satisfied.
You ought to be reminded that not every secularist is left wing. I am fiscally conservative atheist. I have no problem with the free exercise of faith on the part of others, as long as I am not required to participate. I don’t want to take the Christ out of Christmas, “In God We Trust” off our currency, or the 10 Commandments off the walls of our courts. I am not offended that others think differently; I just want to be able to do the same without interference.
So please be careful when you’re wielding that brash that you don’t paint too wide a swath. Atheists are no more a monolith than religious folks.
I’m so thankful to be called an American and be free to worship the one and only God, the Creator! I sincerely believe our country is a better place having Dr. Ben Carson speaking out so boldly for our God!!! I share his heart’s desires! Praise God for Dr. Ben Carson and for his strong convictions and his brilliant mind.
Glory to God for sending someone who speaks truthfully for Christians. God bless you, Dr. Ben Carson for President!!
As an educated man he must know he’s being dishonest. Most of our forefathers were Deist. When they spoke of God the creator, the weren’t referring to the God of the Bible. They believed that God the creator created and left things to go their way, not controlling nor interfering, not a country under any God. Two reasons he doesn’t qualify for president, one, he proved to be a liar and two, he’s a religious supremacist.
under god was added to the pledge in 1950s
