Donald Trump's Massive Fundraising Haul Results In $102 Million War Chest

While it remains anyone’s guess what former President Donald Trump will eventually decide to do in 2024, one thing is for certain: Trump is still able to bring in massive fundraising hauls.

As the 2022 midterm elections approach, Trump has a gargantuan $102 million war chest, according to new federal campaign finance filings.

Politico: ‘The Figures… Underscore The Profound Reach Of Trump’s Fundraising Power’

Politico reported on Saturday, “Former President Donald Trump’s political committees brought in $82 million during the first half of 2021 and have $102 million in the bank, according to federal filings made public Saturday evening.”

“The figures, shared first with POLITICO, underscore the profound reach of Trump’s fundraising power,” the news outlet reported.

Politico continued, “While the former president is out of office and has been deplatformed on social media sites, he maintains a massive online donor network that he could lean on should he wage a 2024 comeback bid.”

Even before 2024, the money could go to other uses. Trump has repeatedly promised primary challenges for Republicans who voted to impeach him, and more recently, Republicans who voted for Biden’s infrastructure package.

Open Secrets, a nonpartisan, independent, and nonprofit research group that tracks money in U.S. politics, recently reported that according to Federal Election Commission records, the Democratic National Committee raised $87.1 million in the first half of 2021.

The Republican National Committee reported raising $85 million from January 1, 2021, to June 30, 2021.

The Financial Times reported that, “Trump-affiliated groups have raised a total of more than $56m on the online Republican fundraising platform WinRed, leapfrogging the Republican National Committee ($19m) and the Republican Senate and House party committees combined ($23m raised by the National Republican Senatorial Committee and $26m raised by the National Republican Congressional Committee).”

Politico noted, “The former president’s fundraising was spread across three committees: Save America, a leadership PAC he launched shortly after losing the 2020 election; Make America Great Again PAC, his old campaign account which was converted into a PAC this year; and a joint fundraising outfit that sends its funds to the other two groups.”

Trump 2024?

“Campaign finance disclosures filed late Saturday evening showed that Save America took in the bulk of the funds — more than $62 million — and finished June with just over $90 million in its account,” Politico reported.

As far as Trump possibly running again in 2024, according to Mark Meadows, former White House chief of staff for Trump, the former president held meetings last week with “cabinet members” at his golf club in Bedminister, New Jersey.

Meadows told Newsmax, “I’m not authorized to speak on behalf of the president, but I can tell you this, Steve: We wouldn’t be meeting tonight if we weren’t making plans to move forward in a real way, with President Trump at the head of that ticket.”
