On Monday, President Donald Trump encouraged Vice President Mike Pence to oppose the scheduled Wednesday congressional certification of the 2020 election.
Trump made his comments during a rally in Dalton, Georgia to support Republican incumbent Senators Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue against their Democratic challengers in Tuesday’s runoff elections.

Trump On Pence: ‘I Hope That Our Great Vice President Comes Through For Us’
“I hope that our great Vice President comes through for us,” Trump told the campaign rally crowd.
The President was referring to Pence’s ceremonial role in the scheduled January 6th certification of the electoral college vote.
Trump added of Pence, “He’s a great guy. Of course, if he doesn’t come through, I won’t like him quite as much.
Then, laughing and lightheartedly, Trump said, “No, Mike is a great guy.”

Pence At Georgia Rally: ‘I Share The Concerns Of Millions Of Americans About Voting Irregularities’
On Wednesday, Pence must serve as the presiding officer of a joint session of the House and Senate hearing where many Republican senators and House members plan to challenge the election.
Doing so could delay the certification vote for ten days.
On Monday, Pence spoke at a Georgia campaign rally, where he said that he was looking forward to the hearing.

Pence: ‘We’ll Hear The Objections. We’ll Hear The Evidence’
Pence told the crowd, “I know we all got our doubts about the last election, and I want to assure you, I share the concerns of millions of Americans about voting irregularities.”
The vice president added, “I promise you, come this Wednesday we’ll have our day in Congress. We’ll hear the objections. We’ll hear the evidence.”
The crowd applauded wildly.
Once the House and Senate voting is finished and the counting of the certified electoral college votes is complete, Pence is expected to declare the winner of the presidential election.
