Trump Makes Two Huge Moves in Support of Pro-Life Americans

Americans are becoming increasingly pro-life, a fact that liberals and the mainstream media blatantly ignore. However, President Donald Trump made two huge and unprecedented moves this week to demonstrate that he is squarely in the corner of the pro-life movement.

On Wednesday, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced that Trump will address the annual March For Life in Washington on Friday, making him the first sitting president to do so.

The March For Life draws hundreds of thousands of people every year to protest the Roe v. Wade decision that mandated legalized abortion in the United States, one of the most despicable Supreme Court rulings in history. By addressing the march, Trump proves that he’s still firmly behind the morals of the conservative Christian Americans who voted him into office.

But following Huckabee Sanders’s announcement, Trump proved that he’s not only sticking by pro-lifers – he’s giving them a voice, too. On Thursday, the Trump Administration announced new legal protections for doctors, nurses, and other health workers who have religious or moral objections to performing abortions or sex-change operations and other medical services.

To oversee the new protections and investigate complaints, the Administration created a new unit within the federal government: the Conscience and Religious Freedom Division of the Office for Civil Rights at the Department of Health and Human Services. “No one should be forced to choose between helping sick people and living by one’s deepest moral or religious convictions, and the new division will help guarantee that victims of unlawful discrimination find justice,” OCR Director Roger Severino said Thursday morning. “We are saying, with the launch of this division, you do not need to shed your religious identity, you do not need to shed your moral convictions to be a part of the public square.”

According to Severino, the office has received 34 complaints from workers who say they experienced discrimination because they refused to participate in specific medical procedures.

Of course, liberals have blasted the new protections for pro-life health workers as an “attempt to let ideology dictate who is able to get the care they need.” On the contrary, if one doctor denies someone an abortion or sex change, chances are there are two others who’d be perfectly willing to do it. But as we’ve seen with Christian bakers who refuse to make gay wedding cakes on religious grounds, liberals won’t be happy unless they burn their detractors to the ground.

Kudos to President Trump for finally giving pro-life and Christian Americans the religious and moral freedom to choose. It’s been a long time coming.
