A newly uncovered letter that was sent to former FBI Director James Comey in August of 2016 is proving that the Democrat establishment knew about the FBI’s secret counterintelligence investigation into the Donald Trump campaign.

The letter was from Democrat reps. Elijah Cummings, John Conyers, Elliot L. Engel, and Bennie Thompson, who all requested on August 30, 2016, “that the FBI assess whether connections between Trump campaign officials and Russian interests may have contributed” to the now-infamous hacking of the Democrat National Committee’s servers.

“Serious questions have been raised about overt and covert actions by Trump campaign officials on behalf of Russian interests,” they write in the letter. “It is critical for the American public to know whether those actions may have directly caused or indirectly motivated attacks against Democratic institutions and our fundamental election process.”

As the Conservative Tribune reminds us,

After the DNC reported that its servers had been hacked, the committee refused to cooperate with federal investigators.
Why is it that the Democrat National Committee was unwilling to allow the FBI to inspect their servers? And why, given the clear-cut lack of evidence, were congressional Democrats nevertheless clearly itching to pin the blame for the hack on Trump? It’s almost as if they were trying to frame him.
But the story only grows even more mysterious.
Three days after House Democrats submitted this letter to Comey, FBI counterintelligence agent Peter Strzok and FBI attorney Lisa Page exchanged text messages in which Page mentioned prepping Comey because “potus wants to know everything we’re doing.”

Strzok is the former Chief of the Counterespionage Section of the FBI during Clinton investigation, and has been in the headlines the past couple of months for his anti-Trump texts he sent during the investigation. Among his most famous texts is one in which he makes reference to an “insurance policy” in the unlikely event of a Trump presidency. “I want to believe the path u threw out 4 consideration in Andy’s [McCabe’s] office” he wrote in a text to Page, “that there’s no way he gets elected-but I’m afraid we can’t take that risk. It’s like an insurance policy in unlikely event u die be4 you’re 40”

What exactly was that insurance policy?

I doubt the FBI would like us to find out.
