WASHINGTON, DC - FEBRUARY 27: Former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder speaks during an interview at the Washington Post on February 27, 2018 in Washington, DC. During an interview with Washington Post writer Jonathan Capehart, Holder discussed Special Counsel Robert Muller's investigation into alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 US presidential election, as well as his efforts to reform what he calls the "biggest rigged system in America" through a national redistricting effort. It’s finally happening!

Former Attorney General Eric Holder’s presidential aspirations may have just been cut short. The Department of Justice, the cabinet department Eric used to run, is now going to out Holder’s most notorious operation. Attorney General Jeff Sessions confirms that the DOJ will be releasing documents related to the Fast And Furious scandal to the House Oversight Committee.

Katie Pavlich of Townhall reports:

The Department of Justice announced Wednesday additional documents related to the Operation Fast and Furious scandal during the Obama administration will be released to the House Oversight Committee.

“The Department of Justice under my watch is committed to transparency and the rule of law. This settlement agreement is an important step to make sure that the public finally receives all the facts related to Operation Fast and Furious,” Attorney General Jeff Sessions released in a statement.

This is a huge breakthrough. We’ve been waiting over six years for these documents to be produced. The DOJ under Obama refused to let the documents see the light of day. Now we’re about to find out the truth.

Last summer, the House Oversight Committee announced that it would be taking another look into the scandal, which involved an operation conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) from 2009-2011. The plan was supposed to be simple: clandestinely sell American arms to Mexican narcos, then arrest those narcos for having American weapons.

Somewhere along the line, the arrests didn’t happen, and American guns were used by violent drug dealers to murder their rivals. As a result, that blood was on the hands of Holder, Obama, and everyone who signed off on the program.

It’s unclear what they documents will reveal about the deadly operation. But there was a reason Eric Holder was keeping them from Congress.
