Democrat James Clyburn Says He Will ‘Have To Pray’ For Black Trump Voters

House Majority Whip James Clyburn said during an interview on Sunday that he was praying for black voters who are choosing President Donald Trump over Joe Biden in Tuesday’s election.

Fox News Channel’s Bret Baier cited polls showing Trump support has risen among black and Hispanic voters, and asked Clyburn if he had seen a change in attitude toward Trump by minority groups.

Clyburn Will ‘Pray’ For Black Americans Who Support Trump

Clyburn said he has not noticed a shift and that he would “have to pray” for any black American who votes Trump.

Clyburn also said Trump “referred to a black woman as a dog on national television,” a reference to Trump calling his former staffer Omarosa a “dog.”

“I can tell you what, and I mean this sincerely, I’m the father of three black women,” Clyburn said.

“I am the son of a black woman,” he continued.

“If any black man can go in a polling place and cast a vote for a man who referred to a black woman as a dog on national television, I’m going to have to pray for them,” Clyburn said.

“I will have to pray for them,” the Democrat added.

Clyburn Sounds Like Joe Biden Saying ‘You Ain’t Black’ If You Support Trump

Baier said that Clyburn’s comments were similar to Biden telling black voters “you ain’t black” if they didn’t vote for him.

Clyburn replied, “It may sound that way to you, but what I said was any man that calls one of my three daughters a dog, I will never vote for them.”

The Democrat leader kept hammering home on what he believes was President Trump insulting black women.

“And I don’t understand any black man that would vote for anybody that refers to a black woman, all of us that I know are products or sons of black women,” Clyburn said.

“I don’t stand for that kind of insult for my mothers, my sisters, or my children,” Clyburn finished.

Trump Could Receive More Black Votes In 2020 Than He Did In 2016

Donald Trump received more black votes in 2016 than former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney did in 2012.

This, despite a constant narrative from the left and the media that Trump is a “racist.”

Recently, Team Trump has touted it’s minority outreach, earning the interest and praise of African American hip-hop artists like Kanye West, 50 Cent, Ice Cube, and Lil Wayne.

It’s possible President Trump could receive even higher minority support in 2020 – whether James Clyburn likes it or not.
