When Stanford Law School Professor Pamela Karlan took the stand Wednesday as an impeachment witness for House Democrats, she couldn’t help taking a shot at President Donald Trump’s 13-year-old son, Barron Trump.

‘He can’t make him a baron’

During an exchange about the differences between kings and presidents, Karlan said, “So while the president can name his son Barron, he can’t make him a baron.”

Needless to say Karlan’s comments sparked immediate backlash online.

An Avalanche of Criticism Online

Trump 2020 national press secretary Kayleigh McEnany wrote in a statement, “Only in the minds of crazed liberals is it funny to drag a 13-year-old child into the impeachment nonsense. Pamela Karlan thought she was being clever and going for laughs, but she instead reinforced for all Americans that Democrats have no boundaries when it comes to their hatred of everything related to President Trump.”

“Hunter Biden is supposedly off-limits according to liberals, but a 13-year-old boy is fair game,” she noted. “Disgusting.”

McEnany continued, “Every Democrat in Congress should immediately repudiate Pamela Karlan and call on her to personally apologize to the President and the First Lady for mocking their son on national TV.”

Former senior White House aide Cliff Sims tweeted, “These people are sick losers. This is what happens when you think Twitter is real life—you bring up your political opponents’ underage children to get lols.”

Laura Ingraham of Fox News chimed in, “Karlan’s cheap shot invoking Baron Trump’s name just lost them any shred of hope that they’re going to win this impeachment battle in the court of public opinion.”

Tom Nichols, a noted Trump critic, was not a fan of the remark, tweeting, “Karlan’s ‘Barron’ joke. Rolling my eyes so hard. Cripes.”

NewsBusters Managing Editor Curtis Houck said, “Liberal journalists don’t care that Harlan invoked Barron Trump. Why? Because it’s something they would do.”

And Dems Think Hunter Biden Isn’t Fair Game?!?

Team Trump made a great point, similar to the campaign statement, “So Hunter Biden is off limits, but 13 year old Barron Trump is not? This gets more unreal by the minute!”

Fox News contributor Mollie Hemingway tweeted, “One of Democrats’ impeachment witnesses, the one who says she can’t walk on the sidewalk in front of Trump hotel because of her hatred for Bad Orange Man, just went after Barron Trump, if you’re wondering how things are going.”

Republican Congressman Paul Gosar wrote: “Hunter Biden is off limits but Barron Trump isn’t…”

Dana Loesch tweeted,“But don’t go after Biden’s 50 year-child.”

Federalist co-founder Sean Davis wrote: “Media eagerly rode to the rescue to prevent any criticism of Joe Biden’s 50-year-old, cocaine-snorting, stripper-impregnating, Ukrainian oligarch-coddling ‘child,’ but I’m skeptical that we’ll see them defend Trump’s 13-year-old son with the same vigor.”

This was just the tip of the iceberg, with many pointing out the hypocrisy of Republicans being attacked for criticizing Hunter Biden, and yet some on the left apparently have no problem attacking a 13-year-old boy because of who his father is.

Do these people have any shame? We already know the answer.
