A Democrat lawmaker slammed Christians for supporting border security by saying President Trump would have killed baby Jesus, then stormed out of a hearing when Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen offered to ‘walk him through’ how legal immigration works.
Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) put on the bizarre display during a House Judiciary Committee hearing on immigration and border security.
His rant involved calling Christians who want migrants to follow laws “repugnant” and reminding those in attendance that we shouldn’t actually say ‘Christmas’ because it’s not inclusive.
Gutierrez is an open-borders zealot who is a member of a party that only cites God and the Bible when they think it will make a larger point about their policies.
Border walls and enforcing laws would have ‘killed Jesus’
The crux of Gutierrez obscene rant is that self-described Christians have no right to celebrate Christmas while simultaneously being against illegal immigration and lawlessness.

“It is repugnant to me, and astonishing to me, that during Christmas — I like to call them the holiday seasons to be inclusive, but during Christmas because the majority always wants to just call it Christmas — that during Christmas, a time in which we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, a Jesus Christ who had to flee for his life with Mary and Joseph, thank God there wasn’t a wall that stopped him from seeking refuge in Egypt,” Gutierrez charged.
“Thank God that wall wasn’t there, thank God there wasn’t any administration like this, or he would have to have perished on the 28th, on the Day of the Innocents, when Herod ordered the murder of every child under two years of age.”
It didn’t take long for people to respond to Gutierrez ridiculous assertions with, you know, facts.
Great silly sound bite Gutierrez, but why would there be a wall? Egypt was part of the Roman Empire yet different from other provinces as it was under rule of Augustus, not Herod, thus Jesus was safe. https://t.co/TPEcyLbNON

Weren’t Mary and Joseph turned away from every inn and that’s why Jesus was born in a barn

Well, the Democrat did confess to one thing that makes sense claiming “Maybe I haven’t gone a lot to Bible school…”
Maybe? That’s a definite.
DHS Secretary Nielsen makes him storm out
Gutierrez then pivoted once again to shaming Christians for supposedly supporting a ‘liar’ – Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen.
“Shame on us for wearing a badge of Christianity during Christmas, and allow the secretary to come here and lie,” he frothed.
Nielsen responded by asking him if he wanted a walkthrough on how legally immigrating to the United States works and how to avoid separating children at the border by following the rules.
“I’m not a liar,” she first fired back. “We never had a policy for family separation. I am happy to walk the gentleman through it again.”
Sensing defeat in his argument, Gutierrez did what any liberal would do when faced with facts – he turned his back to them and stormed off.
“As far as not being compassionate, let me tell you what I have done, and of course, he couldn’t be bothered to stay, so I am happy to tell the rest of the committee,” Nielsen joked before offering a lengthy description of how the separation policy actually works and why it is designed to actually protect the children.
Gutierrez has a history of walking out when things don’t go his way
Gutierrez, a fervent Trump hater and advocate for open borders, walked out of the State of the Union speech in January just as chants of ‘USA! USA!’ erupted in the chamber during the President’s speech.
We have a bipartisan standing ovation — and a lot of “USA!” chants. https://t.co/00Kmhu7ges

Gutierrez rose from his seat just as the pro-America chants began, walking out while his colleagues patted him on the shoulder.
Maybe he had a protest to attend
The Illinois Democrat has a rich and extensive history of protesting for illegal immigration by getting arrested.
Last September, he joined colleagues and a terrorist-supporting New York City Council Speaker outside Trump Tower to demand protection for illegal immigrants, and was promptly arrested.

He was also arrested in early March of that year after refusing to leave a meeting of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) because they weren’t giving him enough information to help protect illegal immigrants.
Gutierrez would also be slapped with handcuffs in December.

Gutierrez once called President Trump a “major criminal” who must be “eliminated.”
Reality suggests it’s the Democrat who is actually the career criminal. A brave man when it comes to supporting lawbreakers, a coward with his tail tucked between his legs when the female Secretary of Homeland Security explains how laws really work.
