Dem Congressman Will Force Vote on Trump Impeachment Next Week

It looks like yet another member of Congress actually thinks President Trump should be impeached based on his comments defending the national anthem.

Maxine Waters was the first to step up to the plate on this one, saying “we gotta’ get ready for impeachment” after discussing the president’s tweets denouncing NFL players for kneeling during the anthem.

Texas Congressman Al Green (D) decided to take that ball and slam dunk his way to cementing his legacy as being a full blown idiot, announcing he would force a vote in the House next week for similar reasons.

Green was one of the first to call for Trump’s impeachment on the House floor this past summer.

Here we are three months later and Green must have finally seen something that rises to the level of an impeachable offense.

Supporting and defending the national anthem.

We’re not even kidding.

Green blasted the president in a congressional forum yet again, pounding the podium and announcing “I rise to say to the world that this is not what America is all about.”

Wait a minute … Why is he rising? I thought all the cool kids were kneeling?

“I rise today as a proud American,” Green said. “A person who believes in his country, who salutes the flag and says the Pledge of Allegiance and sings the national anthem.”

“I will stand here in the well of the Congress, and I will call for the impeachment of the president of the United States of America,” he said.

While not being a lawmaker, I was able to do a little research and find out exactly what qualifies for impeachment under the Constitution.

The Constitutional Rights Foundation states that the “grounds for impeachment” are “treason, bribery, and other high crimes and misdemeanors.”

Nowhere in that list can one find ‘tweets about the NFL.’

Sadly for Green, impeachment isn’t going to happen.

And as a gentle reminder to Democrats who think they’re going to impeach Trump and a magic fairy will come along and install their muse Hillary Clinton in the White House, here’s a list of the line of succession to the presidency.

Either way, Republicans will be sitting pretty for years to come while Democrats will be running around like that crazy guy wandering the streets chanting unintelligibly.

Only they’ll be wailing ‘impeach 45.’ And nobody will pay attention to them.
