Cathy Lanier is a special breed. The Washington, D.C. Chief of Police won’t issue gun permits to people in the nation’s capital. But, while denying these people their Second Amendment rights, she is asking them to do something unbelievable.
In an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper, Lanier asked the public to intervene in active shootings. The average person would realize the best way to do this would be to restore gun rights in D.C.
“Your options are run, hide, or fight. I always say, if you can get out, getting out is your first option, your best option. If you’re in a position to try and take the gunman down, to take the gunman out, it’s the best option for saving lives before police can get there.”
