Anti-Gun Activist David Hogg’s Home Targeted By ‘Swatting’ Hoax

David Hogg swatted

The family of anti-gun activist David Hogg was “swatted” Tuesday morning when someone falsely reported a hostage situation at their Florida home, prompting a SWAT team to swarm the residence. (RELATED: David Hogg Cashes In On Manufactured Celebrity With Book Deal).

According to a report from Local 10, someone called the Broward Sheriff’s Office claiming there was a hostage situation at the home. However, when Coral Springs Fire Rescue arrived on the scene, they realized there was no hostage situation and the call was a prank. BSO also responded with multiple crews and a police helicopter.

Hogg was not home at the time of the swatting – he’s currently in Washington, D.C. with his mother.

If you’re unfamiliar, swatting is a form of harassment wherein someone deceives emergency services into sending a police force to someone’s home. It’s illegal, juvenile, and highly dangerous – and whoever made the prank call should be prosecuted within the full extent of the law.

Yes, David Hogg is not well-liked. Yes, he’s extremely misinformed about guns, gun violence, and gun rights, as all anti-gun liberals are. However, swatting is not an acceptable response to his anti-gun activism. It’s a dangerous intimidation tactic right out of the liberal playbook, and it reflects extremely poorly on conservatives who stand opposed to Hogg.

Please, let’s not stoop to this level. Let’s take the high road and shut Hogg up with cold, hard facts rather than illegal, immature schemes.
