2020 Democrat Cory Booker Says Supporting ‘Green New Deal’ Is Like Fighting Nazis

When self-described socialist and Democratic congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez released her “Green New Deal” Thursday, critics everywhere laughed. This “plan” was a smorgasbord of leftist agenda items — everything from government healthcare to basic universal income to – wrapped up in package that supposedly only addressed climate change.

Of course, a plan as crazy as this was immediately backed by many of the 2020 Democratic presidential contenders.

One of them is New Jersey Senator Cory Booker–who compared support for the Green New Deal to the U.S. fighting the Nazis in World War II.

No, we’re not kidding.

Speaking at a campaign stop in Mason City, Iowa, on Friday, Booker said, “We have to deal with this. Our planet is in peril, and we need to be bold. It’s one of the reasons I signed on to the resolution.”

“I co-sponsored the resolution for the Green New Deal. There’s a lot of people blowing back on the Green New Deal,” Booker said. “They’re going, ‘Oh, it’s impractical, oh it’s too expensive, oh it’s all of this.’ If we used to govern our dreams that way, we would have never gone to the moon.”

Right now is a good time to remind Sen. Booker that green deals and moon trips aside, the national debt is a whopping $22 trillion.

“Who came forward to save the earth from the scourge of Nazi and totalitarian regimes?”

Booker kept going.

“We need to be bold again in America. We need to have dreams that other people say are impossible. We need to push the bounds of human potential. Because that is our history,” Booker continued.

“When the planet has been in peril in the past, who came forward to save the earth from the scourge of Nazi and totalitarian regimes?” Booker asked. “We came forward. Who came forward to save the planet or continents from financial ruin? We came forward with the Marshall Plan.”

Forget for a moment that Ocasio-Cortez’s Green New Deal basically amounts to a new Communist Manifesto.

How in the world does Booker compare fighting one of the most hideous totalitarian regimes in history to this garbage?

Let these Democrats continue to back this socialist agenda that most Americans would never stand for.

And as 2020 progresses, Republicans and Cory Booker’s Democratic opponents should never let him forget that he said something so disconnected from reality.
