Conservatives Hilariously React To Liz Cheney’s Tweet Boasting Support From Kevin Costner

Liz Cheney Says 'Real Men Put Country Over Party' Of Costner Pic, Twitter Owns Her

Places like Wyoming conjure up pictures of rugged individualism, ranchers, and the spirt of the American midwest. Rep. Liz Cheney, who is seeking a primary in several weeks, recently tweeted out a picture of what she thinks “real men” in Wyoming look like, hoping to tap into that Americana spirit.

Well, things didn’t work out as expected.

On Monday, Cheney tweeted out a picture of actor Kevin Costner, appearing to be on the set of his popular show “Yellowstone.” In the photo, Costner wears a T-shirt that reads, “I’m For Liz Cheney.” Cheney added a caption to the picture that says, “Real men put country over party.”

The Social Media Media Reaction Isn’t What Cheney Expected

The response to Cheney’s tweet was nothing short of hilarious. Most respondents, whether they were natives of Wyoming or not, called Cheney out, not only for the fact that Costner does not live in Wyoming, and therefore cannot be one of her constituents, but for her participation on the Democrat led January 6 Committee.

“Liz couldn’t find a Wyoming voter that supports her, so—naturally— she had to settle for an actor that lives in Colorado. Sounds about right,” said conservative organizer Scott Presler.

Conservative comedian and Washington Times contributor Tim Young jumped in, saying “They found the one guy in the world who owns a Liz Cheney shirt.”

Journalist Carmine Sabia took a moment to pull up this blast from the past which shows Costner shaking hands with anti-American communist leader of Cuba Fidel Castro.

The Hill To Die On

With a lone House seat that should be very reliably red, and a state where Donald Trump walked away with 70% of the vote in 2020, Liz Cheney has decided to all but sacrifice her political career on the altar of the Jan. 6 Committee, where she is one of two Nancy Pelosi hand-picked Republicans. The ultimate goal seeming to be, to prevent Donald Trump from ever running for any office, especially the office of president, ever again.

As Americans struggle daily with 40-year high inflation and skyrocketing gas and food prices, the events of roughly a year and a half ago are not front and center on the minds of voters.

Last month, while participating in a panel discussion on NBC, Politico correspondent Betsy Woodruff stated that in recent conversations she’d had with at least two Democrat lawmakers, both acknowledged that, “Nobody gives a bleep about January 6.”

Several of the hearings were broadcast on network television, possibly giving Democrats some hope that some sort of “bombshell” evidence against Trump might boost their chances in the upcoming midterm elections. In a Quinnipiac poll from July 20, voters’ biggest concerns are inflation and gun violence. Jan. 6 did not make the list of issues.

Wyomingites Fed Up With Liz

Liz Cheney’s obsession with Donald Trump is not playing well with Wyoming voters. Currently, Cheney’s primary challenger, attorney Harriet Hageman, who was endorsed by Trump, is leading Cheney in the polls by around 20 points. Wyoming’s primary is August 16.

CNN recently traveled to Wyoming to see for themselves what voters thoughts on Liz Cheney were. It wasn’t pretty. When asked if they would be voting for Cheney in the primary, responses ranged from “hell no,” to “absolutely not.”

Cheney’s devotion to the Jan. 6 Committee seems to have been her political death blow. One voter stated, “I find her work on the January 6 committee just repulsive.” Another called out the committee as being a, “kangaroo court,” a “witch hunt,” a “hoax,” and “propaganda.”

Liz Cheney may be viewing herself as some sort of martyr, sacrificing herself and her career in order to “protect” the country from Donald Trump. And while it may land her a top contributor spot at CNN or MSNBC, in Wyoming it will land her the title of “former” Rep. Liz Cheney.
