CNN’s Don Lemon: Kanye West a “Minstrel Show”

CNN’s Don Lemon doubled down on his attacks against rapper and newly minted Trump supporter Kanye West. This came after the network aired a controversial segment on Lemon’s show where panelists called Kanye a “token negro,” which attracted criticism online. On host Wolf Blitzer’s show, Lemon reacted to Kanye’s Oval Office meeting with President Trump by comparing it to a “minstrel show.”

“What I saw was a minstrel show today,” Lemon said to a receptive panel as he began to speak on behalf of all black people. “Him [Kanye] in front of all these white people, mostly white people, embarrassing himself and embarrassing Americans, but mostly African Americans because every one of them is sitting either at home or with their phones, watching this, cringing. I couldn’t even watch it. I had to turn the television off because it was so hard to watch.”

Lemon continued, “This has nothing to do with being liberal or conservative” and “this has to do with honesty.”

Lemon’s comments were at least somehow less bigoted than those he aired on his own show this week. On Lemon’s show, commentator Bakari Sellers told him that “Kanye West is what happens when — Kanye West is what happens when negroes don’t read, and — and we have this now. And now, Donald Trump is going to use it and pervert it. And he’s going to have somebody who can stand with him and take pictures,” said on Lemon’s show in reaction to the Kanye meeting. Another panelist chimed in, branding Kanye the “token negro of the Trump administration.”

It’s amazing how in one breath liberals like Lemon will criticize the GOP for not doing enough to attract minorities, while in the next breath they’ll racially attack anyone who dare defect ideologically. You can watch that disturbing display of liberalism below:

An not to be outdone, CNN managed to be topped in insanity by MSNBC, who branded Kanye a “white supremacist” for meeting with Trump.

How crazy are the times we live in that “black white supremacist” is even a phrase in anyone’s vernacular?
