CNN’s Don Lemon Accuses Chris Cuomo Of ‘Doing The Republicans’ Work’ With Court-Packing Questions

Things got a bit tense on CNN on Monday night when host Don Lemon accused his fellow host Chris Cuomo of “doing the Republicans’ work” by asking Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) about the possibility of packing the Supreme Court.

This did not sit well with Lemon, who claimed that it was “not a legitimate question.”

Lemon Confronts Cuomo

During the hand-off between their respective shows, Lemon said to Cuomo, “Why are you like pushing him [Booker] about court-packing? Because you’re doing the Republicans’ work.”

“No, I’m not. It’s a legitimate question,” Cuomo replied.

“Well, look, it’s not a legitimate question in that, during the debate, the vice president raised the question,” Lemon said, according to The Hill. “The moderator didn’t raise the question.”

“Plus, it is — this is something that — this is a hypothetical. Whether or not — Joe Biden has said twice, at least on tape that I’ve seen, how he feels about court-packing,” he added. “And I think it’s a distraction from the Republicans –.”

Cuomo interrupted at that point to rightfully question why Biden won’t simply answer the question about court-packing directly.

“Because he doesn’t have to,” Lemon fired back.

“I don’t think he has to answer it,” Lemon later added. “Because I think it is a red herring. Because they don’t want to talk about how Mitch McConnell has packed the court over the years by not allowing –.”

“It’s a hypothetical,” he continued. “I’m sure there are some Democrats who want to do it. … It’s never, ever, ever going to happen.”

“[Packing the Supreme Court] is never, ever, ever going to happen,” Lemon concluded.

Biden Says Voters Don’t ‘Deserve’ To Know His Court Packing Stance

This comes days after Biden said that American voters don’t deserve to hear his views on packing the Supreme Court.

“Don’t the voters deserve to know where you stand on court packing?” a reporter asked Biden on Friday.

“No, they don’t deserve,” Biden replied. “I’m not going to play his [President Trump’s] game.”
