CNN engaged in a bit of accidental truth on Sunday when reporter Maeve Reston admitted that the only thing her network covers in regards to the Trump Administration is Russia, and voters just don’t care all that much.
Reston reported that voters had begun to forget about any uneasiness they felt during the economic downturn brought about by the Obama Administration – something they consider far more important.
Voters are starting to feel more positively.
Reston hinted that this was what mattered to voters and that CNN’s coverage of alleged Russia/Trump collusion is meaningless.
In short, it’s the economy, stupid.

“You are starting to see that uneasiness about the economy sort of dissipate,” Reston said. “Remember, even in 2016 when we went out to these swing states and talked to voters, there was still this fear that things were suddenly going to turn down again.”
“You don’t feel that as much anymore.”
Reston continued: “I’m so interested to see how the Russia investigation affects things because so far, out in these districts when you talk to people about Russia, and that’s all we talk about at CNN basically, they say they don’t care.”
“It doesn’t have any effect on their lives,” she added.
It’s no exaggeration to say CNN ‘basically’ only talks about Russia.
A Daily Caller report indicates that CNN has tweeted out the word ‘Russia’ over 1,000 times since President Trump’s inauguration.

“From January 20, 2017 to January 20, 2018, CNN tweeted about Russia a whopping 1,118 times,” writes Amber Athey at the DC. “That’s an average of at least 3 Russia-related tweets a day.”
The obsession has been remarkable. Yet, as Reston stated, voters just don’t care.
A poll conducted in July showed that a mere one in five Trump voters thought the alleged collusion story was worth their time. What did they consider important?
Building a stronger military, restricting immigration by refugees and asylum seekers, and creating jobs for middle-class Americans.
“My guess is, if you look at the records, the questions that I take in here day out have far more to do with an investigation that, frankly, most Americans don’t care too much about, and a whole lot less to do with policies that actually impact them,” White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said.
The mainstream media and CNN will keep on reporting it, however, proving over and over how out of touch they are with average, every day Americans.
