CNN Guest: ‘When a Woman Gets Pregnant, That is Not a Human Being’

During a discussion on CNN Monday night, guest Christine Quinn voiced her opposition to “heartbeat bills” being passed in various states that would ban abortion once a fetal heartbeat is detected. Quinn insisted that when a woman gets pregnant, she is not pregnant with a human being.

“Christine, what’s the concern with what just passed in Georgia, and what you may wind up seeing more of, a state passing through its legislature, a more restrictive right to reproductive acts such as — reproductive rights such as abortion?” CNN host Chris Cuomo asked. “This is a six-week bill.”

When Quinn began to explain, CNN’s Rick Santorum interrupted, “You realize a baby dies in an abortion. Do you realize that? Are you ignoring that fact? That’s a reality. This is a human life.”

“That’s not a legal fact,” said Cuomo. “It’s not a legal fact,” Quinn seconded him.

There was a lot of back and forth until Quinn finished with this:

“Let’s be clear here, Rick, with all of your distortions and horrible tales: When a woman gets pregnant, that is not a human being inside of her.”

“It is part of her body and this is about a woman having full agency and control of her body and making decisions about her body and what is part of her body with medical professionals,” Quinn said. “Those are the facts and that is the law.”

“Chattel. So it’s their property and they can do whatever they want to it?” Santorum shot back. “They can maim the baby or torture the baby?”

“You’re so desperate here,” Quinn responded. “I’m not desperate. I’m just asking questions,” Santorum responded.

It was a chilling exchange, and yet another example of how far the pro-abortion lobby will go in dehumanizing the unborn. Quinn, and even Cuomo it seems would have us believe the entity growing inside a woman after she becomes pregnant is not a human being.

Thankfully, most Americans have more common sense than that. Now we just need laws that reflect that fact and that protect the most defenseless among us.
