Clinton Impeachment Litigator Ken Starr Joins Team Trump

By David Kamioner | January 17, 2020

President Donald Trump has very good taste in some areas. Attorneys seem to be one of them.

That’s why Ken Starr of the Clinton impeachment saga and Alan Dershowitz, one of the best lawyers in the nation, have joined the president’s defense team in the upcoming Tuesday senate trial. This litigator draft was reported by Fox News.

They will join telegenic former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, Robert Ray, Jane Raskin, White House counsel Pat Cipollone, Jay Sekulow, Michael Purpura, and Patrick Philbin on Team Trump.

Dershowitz, a famed attorney and celebrity for decades and a lifelong Democrat, tweeted this on his participation in defending the president.

He also said in a tweet he would, “present oral arguments at the Senate trial to address the constitutional arguments against impeachment and removal.”

“While Professor Dershowitz is non-partisan when it comes to the constitution — he opposed the impeachment of President Bill Clinton and voted for Hillary Clinton — he believes the issues at stake go to the heart of our enduring Constitution,” Dershowitz oddly said, referring to himself in the third person, in another tweet.

Starr’s inclusion drew immediate negative reaction from Dem veterans of the Clinton Impeachment drama. That includes Monica Lewinsky, who penned an amusing yet unprintable response. Starr is a former U.S. Solicitor General.

Dershowitz is known for many cases. However perhaps none more so than the case of Claus Von Bulow. In 1979 Von Bulow was accused of the attempted murder of his heiress socialite wife Sunny Von Bulow in a case that drew national and international attention.

Claus Von Bulow was convicted in the first trial. But due to aggressive and brilliant work by Deshowtiz Von Bulow’s conviction was reversed on appeal. He was acquitted at a second trial.

The case was so notorious it spawned the Academy Award-winning 1990 film “Reversal of Fortune” starring Jeremy Irons and Glenn Close. Irons won an Oscar for his portrayal of Von Bulow. Dershowitz was played by actor Ron Silver. Silver was a Dem activist who later converted to conservatism and the GOP after 9-11.

Dershowiotz and Starr will bring scores of years of legal experience to the case and will easily outmatch the Dem trial team.
