Libertarian Hollywood legend Clint Eastwood has never toed the liberal line in Tinseltown.
At a recent event to celebrate the 25th anniversary of his Oscar-winning film “Unforgiven,” Eastwood slammed political correctness, saying it, along with a lack of humor, is killing the entertainment industry.
Believe it or not, Eastwood said the scourge of political correctness began nearly 50 years ago, around the time of the release of his 1971 movie “Dirty Harry.”
“A lot of people thought it was politically incorrect,” he revealed of the movie. “That was at the beginning of the era that we’re in now with political correctness.”
“We are killing ourselves, we’ve lost our sense of humor,” Eastwood added.

As far as Clint Eastwood is concerned, society’s current obsession with political correctness began with his 1971 movie Dirty Harry.
Coming in the wake of his three Sergio Leone Westerns that began with 1964’s A Fistful of Dollars, the violent San Francisco-set cop story consolidated Eastwood’s growing stardom, and he makes no apologies for it.
“It was far-out at that time, so I brought it to [director] Don [Siegel], and he liked it,” Eastwood recalled Sunday during a visit to the Cannes Film Festival. “A lot of people thought it was politically incorrect.”

This isn’t the first time Eastwood has railed against the snowflake generation pervading Hollywood.
During an interview with Esquire this past summer, Eastwood hammered “the kiss-ass generation we’re in right now.”
“We’re really in a p**** generation,” he said. “Everybody’s walking on eggshells. We see people accusing people of being racist and all kinds of stuff.”
By people, he meant Democrats. Consistently. Frequently.
During that interview, Eastwood was actually referencing Donald Trump, praising him for being a strong contrast to the PC atmosphere.
“Secretly everybody’s getting tired of political correctness, kissing up,” he explained.
Eastwood has proven he’s not afraid to tackle topics most liberals in Hollywood would avoid. One of his more recent projects involves three American heroes who thwarted an Islamic terrorist attack on a train in Paris in 2015.
The new movie is called “The 15:17 to Paris.”
