Justice Thomas Says Shrink Government To Preserve Scalia’s Legacy

Clarence Thomas

One of the biggest reasons that Donald Trump won the Presidency was due to the importance of filling the Supreme Court vacancy left by the untimely death of Justice Antonin Scalia.

Many conservatives and even #NeverTrump people held their nose when it came to Trump because they knew the Supreme Court would be the defining issue of his Presidency.

Long after his inflammatory tweets are forgotten and his press conferences are done, the appointment(s) he makes to the Supreme Court will have a long-lasting effect on the course of our nation.

In a speech this past week, Justice Thomas signalled to Donald Trump the kind of mindset he is looking for to join him on the Supreme Court.

Via Chicago Tribune:

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas called on fellow conservatives Thursday to continue the work of the late Justice Antonin Scalia to keep the power of the courts and other branches of government in check.

There are a lot of potential names that Trump could put on the court. He already has Scalia’s vacancy to fill, and many experts think he’ll have up to two more Justices to appoint during his term. This is major and could sway the court in a more conservative direction. Hopefully Trump remains a man of his word and appoints conservative judges who believe in our Constitution.
