Three weeks after CNN’s Chris Cuomo said that he had tested positive for coronavirus, his 14-year-old son, Mario, now has contracted the illness in the wake of both his father and mother being infected.

Cuomo announced his wife Cristina’s diagnosis two weeks after his own.

‘I am now working hard to get my son, Mario, through the virus’

On Wednesday, Cristina posted about Mario’s illness on Instagram.

“This virus has created a different version of me. My hope is to be stronger, healthier, smarter about the virus at large,” Cristina wrote. “After 10 days of ups and downs, feeling good one-day and terrible the next, I am now working hard to get my son, Mario, through the virus.”

“My heart hurts more than my head over his infection,” Mrs. Cuomo continued. “This virus does not discriminate. While kids are more resilient, they can suffer same severity of symptoms.”

“I’m applying a modified version of my remedies for his protocol with a focus on lots of vitamins,” she added. “Since his sense of smell and taste have disappeared, I am feeding him healthy foods that I normally can’t get him to touch. I kept a diary of the past week including my remedies and things that I did to stay sane through it all.”

 

Chris Cuomo Announced Monday That He and His Wife Were Ending Their Quarantine

Chris Cuomo posted an Instagram video on Monday night saying he ended his quarantine, and that he could “finally” emerge from the basement of his family home. He also said his wife had been given the okay to end her quarantine.

Over Easter weekend, Cuomo got into a heated argument in East Hampton with a 65-year-old resident out riding a bike.

The man, who asked only to be called David in his comments to the New York Post, chastised Cuomo for not following quarantine rules.

“[Cuomo] said, ‘Who the hell are you?! I can do what I want!,” David said. “He just ranted, screaming, ‘I’ll find out who you are!’”

David continued, “I said to him, ‘Your brother is the coronavirus czar, and you’re not even following his rules — unnecessary travel,’” referring to Cuomo’s brother, Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
