Fox News Anchor Bret Baier Launches New 2020 Election Podcast

Fox News anchor Bret Baier will premier a brand new podcast on Tuesday, examining the numerous 2020 presidential hopefuls looking to unseat President Trump.

The program, titled “The Candidates with Bret Baier,” will involve a rotating panel of analysts to discuss the many contenders on the Democrat side and why they chose to run.

Baier had a similar series in 2016, “The Presidential Contenders: 2016,” in which he explored the potential candidacy for 19 presidential hopefuls.

“He will continue to explore presidential politics as he dives into the podcast medium,” Fox News writes.

Let’s Hope He Examines “Beto”

We’re looking forward to a potential round two with aspiring Democrat contender Beto O’Rourke.

While the man who wasted $59 million in campaign contribution only to inevitably fall to Senator Ted Cruz, hasn’t declared as of yet, several signs point to a White House bid in 2020.

Oprah Winfrey is providing a forum for him at a network interview series in New York City next week, allowing him an opportunity to significantly improve his public profile, while other reports suggest he already met with former President Barack Obama in November.

Beto has also thrown himself front and center in the border wall debate, which prompted a roasting by Baier.

The new podcast host responded to O’Rourke’s assertion that border walls are ‘racist’ by challenging him to take them all down in his state.

The “wall in itself is a racist reaction to a racist myth that does not reflect the reality of this country at all,” O’Rourke said.

The Fox News anchor responded by wondering if the potential 2020 presidential challenger would be willing to take down the current ‘racist’ barriers in his state.

Baier’s Star Continues to Rise

End of the year ratings saw “Special Report with Bret Baier,” landed 6th on the list, but is the number-one straight-news anchor for the Fox News network. And they know his value.

Baier just signed a multiyear contract to continue his role on “Special Report,” a contract that extends his time with the show and network well past the 2020 presidential election.

“Bret continues to be the gold standard not only across FNC, but the entire news industry and his reporting has played an integral role in the success and growth of the network,” Fox News President Jay Wallace said in a statement.
