If you’ll recall, last fall there was a big hullabaloo about Donald Trump signing a “GOP loyalty pledge,” promising to support the Republican candidate for president. Last night at a CNN Republican town hall in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, anchor Anderson Cooper revisited the issue and Trump declared he will no longer honor his promise:
Cooper: Before we go back to the audience, I want to ask you a question I asked to Senator Cruz as well. More than six months ago you pledged to support the Republican nominee, whoever that may be. A lot has changed since then. It sounded when I was pressing Senator Cruz on it, sounded like he was saying he’d have a hard time supporting somebody who went after his wife.
Trump: Honestly, he doesn’t have to support me. I’m not asking for his support. I want the people’s support.
Cooper: Do you continue to pledge whoever the Republican nominee is?
Trump: No. I don’t anymore. Look —
Cooper: You don’t?
Trump: No. We’ll see who it is.
Cruz for his part said, “I’m not in the habit of supporting someone who attacks my wife and attacks my family.” But when Cooper followed up asking directly if he would support Donald Trump if he is the GOP nominee, Cruz hedged a bit and responded, “Let me tell you my solution to that. Donald is not going to be the GOP nominee. We’re going to beat him.”
Kasich also did not outright say he would break his pledge:
“I’ve been disturbed by some of the things that I’ve seen and I have to think about what my word and endorsement would mean in a presidential campaign, so I want to see how this thing finishes out… I gotta see what happens, if the nominee is someone who I think is really hurting the country and dividing the country, I can’t stand behind them.”
When pressed by Cooper on whether it looks like Trump would harm the country, Kasich responded, “That’ll be up to the voters.”
Trump is the only candidate who has made it absolutely clear he will break his pledge to the Republican Party. What other promises will he break as we get closer and closer to November?

All the GOP Candidates signed the pledge and all of them feel that the party let them down. Not one of them said they would honor the pledge and it's because of the GOP behind the scenes, dirty tactic politicing...............
After seeing the choices we have, Trump is the only real choice we have. Take a real hard honest look at cruze and hillary, they will only promote the same BIG CORRUPT government that we now have. It's time the American people start using the BIG STICK our Constitution gave us, it's time to get rid of our corrupt politicians, stop the muslims from taking over our country and give POWER BACK TO PEOPLE.
The RNC has already broken the pledge themselves. It is not incumbent upon any of them to honor that pledge any longer.
As soon as they started throwing in games to assure that no matter what the people said with the vote and that no matter what was right for the nomination according to their own rules ... started bending them to fit their agenda ... THE DEAL WAS OVER.
Donald Trump, even walking away from the Pledge is just fine as he is NOT THE ONE WHO BROKE IT!
I have watched Trump closely and feel he is not Presidential, as he changes his mind quit often, wants to get even, is very arrogant, and more. If he were to change things and appear less arrogant, I still would have a hard time wondering if this were just an act to get to that dream of his...and then if he got it, he would return to the same outbursts? Again, I will say this, I would vote for him if Cruz didn't get it, so that hopefully Hillary wouldn't get it.
You have literally got to be flipping kidding me. I want to get what I see, sorry. I am not into sweet talks. Every single politician has lied through their teeth and have broken promises left and right. At least I know way ahead what I'm getting, and I'm not sucker-punched.
Donald Trump was the only one of the 3 candidates that was honest enough to tell Cooper his feelings about supportiing the winner.. Cruz as he typically does, hum hawed with hit answer.. he does this continually.. kasich was a little bit scared of telling Cooper his view and tried to go on both sides.. I applaud Donald Trump for being honest with his answer and i would feel the same way as Trump. Also Trump is the ONLY one that is not beholding to Soros and the PACS.. go figure...GO TRUMP
Good why should he support someone picked by the corrupt and traitorous, Bilderberg, Globalist, Big Business, Lobby backing GOP. They are the reason for the "Trump Season".
Every answer Cruz gives sounds scripted. He is so boring, so political; he cannot win in the current atmosphere. Neither can Hillary, and sadly because of the forces against him neither can Trump but as he sinks so will the Republican party. The USA has a greater stench coming from its beaches than Denmark. ("something rotten in Denmark" : Hamlet.)
Thank you Trump for making republicans show their true progressive colors.
Pathetic losers.
Why has Trump done everything he said he would not do?? He said he wouldn't sign the pledge form, but he did. He said he would NOT run on a Third Party ticket, and he has announced he will. All he is going to accomplish is giving the election to Hillary Clinton. Thanks Donald for keeping your promises.
WAKE UP! TALL COYOTE SPEAKS : ALL THE LYING,CHEATING AND THE LACK OF INTEGRITY INVOLVED IN THIS PRESIDENTIAL RACE JUST RE-ENFORCES MY BELIEF THAT AMERICA HAS LOST HER MORAL COMPASS.THESE CORRUPT POLITICIANS WILL SAY ANYTHING TO MAINTAIN THEIR CONTROL.WE HAVE GIVEN THEM TO MUCH POWER FOR TO LONG AND NOW WE FACE THE FIGHT OF OUR LIVES TO TAKE BACK OUR COUNTRY.
OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS THINK THAT THEY ARE ABOVE OUR LAWS,BECAUSE WE HAVE ENABLED THEM TO BECOME RICH AND TO GARNER BACKING FROM FOREIGN ENTITIES THAT WANT TO SEE AMERICA FALL,SO THAT THEY CAN COME IN AND PICK UP THE PIECES AND RAVAGE WHAT IS LEFT.
WE HAVE SERIOUS CHOICES TO MAKE THIS YEAR AND OUR LIVES AND FUTURE AND THOSE OF OUR CHILDREN AND GRAND-CHILDREN DEPEND ON MAKING THE RIGHT ONES.WE CAN GO ON LISTENING TO THE CAREER POLITICIANS WHO ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR LEADING US TO WHERE WE ARE,OR WE BAND TOGETHER AND GET BACK TO THE FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES THAT HAVE WORKED FROM THE CONCEPTION OF OUR GREAT COUNTRY.
NOT ONLY ARE WE ELECTING A PRESIDENT THIS YEAR ,BUT IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT 88% OF CONGRESSIONAL SEATS ARE UP FOR ELECTION ALSO,WE NEED TO GET INVOLVED AND VOTE THESE CAREER POLITICIANS OUT OF POWER,WHILE WE STILL CAN AND THINK ABOUT JOINING THE CONVENTION of STATES MOVEMENT TO REDUCE THE POWER OF BIG GOVERNMENT AND GIVE THAT POWER BACK TO THE STATES.
THE CONSTITUTION IS THE GUIDING DOCUMENT TO PROTECT OUR RIGHTS AND FREEDOM THAT ALLOWS US TO KEEP THE SOVEREIGNTY OF OUR GREAT COUNTRY AND LIBERTY FOR ALL AMERICANS........ LET'S MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN
GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND GOD BLESS.................................... THE UNITED STATES of AMERICA
You really need to get your head out of your a.... Donald Trump has done more to keep his promise than ANYONE in the lily livered, mealy mouthed, spineless, gutless, forked tongue, politically correct, double speak, do nothing, go along to get along, afraid of your shadow, girly men or manly women, new castrati eunuch elite republican establishment phonies in the party, including YOU.
Trump will say anything that is expedient in the moment. Hell, he contradicts himself in the same sentence at times. He will not keep this promise or any other promise he has made. He has no moral compass or scruples. If you support him, you are being duped, you've been told that you're being duped and when it becomes apparent that you've been duped I hope you have the courage to admit it and slap yourself. You are denying the truth and evidence that is right in front of you.
YOU are the ignorant establishment eunuch lemming who is duped.
I saw this, I thought it's worth sharing ️)....VOTE AS YOU WISH, AND LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT TRUMP - - A personal note from Peter Ticktin who knows the guy from high school:
As a law firm, we at The Ticktin Law Group do not like to get involved in politics. As soon as we endorse one side, we risk alienating everyone on the other side. Also, our lawyers and staff are, themselves, on both sides. Politics is not our game. However, Justice is!
If you saw a guy get publicly smeared, and you knew him well from the days you were friends and seniors together in high school, if you knew him to be a decent and honest man, would you want to say something? This is why I need to share what I know.
I was aghast at watching last night's debate. It was a set-up. The moderators, Cruz, and Rubio were all like little alligators trying to take a bite out of Trump. Yes, Donald Trump has had some failures, but he has been exceedingly successful. None of this came out. Instead, there was a general attack. Rubio simply makes up lies. He pretends that Trump has small hands and makes fun of him for something which isn't even real. He pretends that Donald wets his pants, and makes fun of him, as though it was true, and then he calls Donald Trump a "Bully."
I am not suggesting that you should vote or not vote for anyone. I just need to defend a former friend who is being smeared.
Like Donald Trump, I attended New York Military Academy ("NYMA") for high school. In fact, in our senior year, together, Donald was my captain, and I was his 1st Platoon Sergeant. I sometimes joke that I ran his first company for him, Company "A."
People don't really change much from the ages of 17 and 18, and I know this guy. I know him to be a good decent guy. We lived and breathed an Honor Code in those years. It wasn't just a rule. It was our way of life. Neither Donald, nor any other cadet who graduated with us would ever lie, cheat, or steal from a fellow cadet. These values became irreversibly intertwined in the fabric of our personalities, of who we are.
Of the 99 guys (no girls in those days) in our class, there is not one who I know who has a bad word to say about Donald Trump. Think of it. With all the jealousies which arise in high school and thereafter, with all the potential envy, not one of us has anything other than positive memories of this man. How could we? He was an "A" student, a top athlete, and as a leader, he was highly respected. We never feared him, yet we never wanted to disappoint him. He had our respect. He was never a bigot in any way, shape or form. He only hates those who hate. Of course he denounces the KKK.
As to the discussion with the New York Times, it is his choice to release the 'off the record' remarks. However, if he does, it opens the door for all political opposition to make that demand for everyone, and that means that our press will never get those 'off the record' remarks which help them to understand the realities of the campaign. Moreover, the idea that Donald Trump confessed some alternate theory of his position is preposterous. Can anyone believe that all those NY Times reporters are walking around knowing some deep dark nasty secret about a guy who is seeking an endorsement?
The Republican establishment is afraid of Donald Trump. Why? They are afraid that he will lose to Hillary. They don't hate Donald. They hate her. They are so fearful that they fail to see that by expanding the base of voters for Trump, he is more likely to win.
Watching the chorus of whiners, decriers, denigrators, and self-righteous put-down experts from so many directions, from Mit Romney, to Megyn Kelly, Little Mario, it has to make you wonder. Why? Why are so many people so angry with Donald Trump, that they are lying, name calling, ridiculing, and demeaning him as they do. Either they are afraid, or they know him to be evil.
This is why I feel the need to speak out at this time. I know this man. He is a lot of things, but he is not evil. He is a decent honest guy who loves this country, and who is willing to sacrifice so much of what is left of his life, because he knows that this country needs to be fixed, and that it is going to require someone who can do the job. He just doesn't see anything around him other than political hacks, so he is willing to take this huge responsibility.
I'm not saying that he is the only one who can do the job. My point is simply as to his motivation and his goodness.
This next decade is going to be one of major changes. We all see the climate changing, and the world food supply is getting lower. Our fish stock around the world is running low. Oil prices will cause countries to fail. The Middle East is beyond repair, and we have become weak and ineffective around the world. Donald Trump sees the issues and knows that he can assemble leaders who would have the best chance of fixing things. This is why he is running. He does not need it for his own aggrandizement. He doesn't need another big jet or to take up residence in the White House. He just wants things to be fixed, and he knows that the politicians won't fix anything.
I knew Donald Trump and was close to him in our senior year in high school. I just want you to know that there is nothing to fear from him. His character is as good as it gets. He is a patriot, taking on a heroic task, and being thanked by massive abuse.
If you want to see a true reflection of a man, look at his children. Need I say more?
