President Barack Obama has no class. After we learned recently that he skipped the late Justice Antonin Scalia’s funeral to play golf, we thought perhaps the White House would make sure he doesn’t do something even more embarrassing a month later.
We were wrong!
Now, Obama will officially skip former First Lady Nancy Reagan’s funeral.
Because he is speaking at the South by Southwest conference in Austin, Texas.
For those of you who haven’t heard of it, it’s an annual conference of tech industry leaders and entertainers who get together for speakers, concerts, and lots of alcohol. It’s basically a party, and now our President is attending instead of showing up at funeral of President Ronald Reagan’s wife.
This is outrageous!

Following the former first lady’s death Monday, Obama said, “As somebody who is lucky enough to have an extraordinary partner in my life as well, I know how much she meant not just to President Reagan but to the country as a whole.”
The South by Southwest festival includes film, music, and technology conferences. On Friday, there will be film festival screenings, including for the new Peewee Herman movie, and SXSW comedy.
Obama will deliver a keynote address, urging “the audience to apply their ideas and talents in working with technology for future world issues.”

Back in 2007, Obama was forced to apologize for making a mean spirited joke about the former First Lady:
President-elect Barack Obama called Nancy Reagan on Friday to apologize for a remark about seances he made during his first news conference earlier in the day.
When a reporter asked Obama if he had spoken with any ex-presidents since his election on Tuesday, he responded that he had spoken to all former presidents “that are living.”
“I didn’t want to get into a Nancy Reagan thing about, you know, doing any seances,” he said.
Nancy Reagan, wife of 40th President Ronald Reagan, was derided in 1988 when his former chief of staff Donald Regan revealed in a book that the first lady had consulted an astrologer to determine the president’s schedule.
