Breaking News: Donald Trump Jr. May Run for NY Governor

Ever since Donald Trump became a serious contender for the presidency, fans and detractors alike have put a new focus on his family.

The Trumps are, for the most part, all involved in the Trump Organization, and are each successful businessmen in their own right. And while the media has speculated about a political future for Ivanka Trump, we’re now learning that another Trump is thinking about just that!

Donald Trump Jr. was visiting a gun club in New York, and dropped a bombshell on his audience:

“Don Jr. said he is interested in running for office, such as governor of New York, but the position of mayor of New York would be less interesting to him,” one of the meeting’s attendees told Page Six.

Trump Jr. reportedly said returning to business became “boring” after joining his father on the presidential campaign trail.

“The politics bug bi[t] me,” he said, according to the report.

Trump Jr. did not specify when he would consider a run for the spot. Current Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who is a vocal opponent of the president, is up for reelection in 2018.

I doubt Trump Jr. will run as soon as 2018. When Donald became President, he turned over the keys of the Trump Organization to his sons Donald Jr. and Eric. Obviously, running a multi-billion dollar empire takes a lot of focus and attention. Then again, Donald Sr. ran the company while running for president.

Jr. has been in the public eye defending his father and taking on liberals. He made headlines for his hilarious response to Rachel Maddow’s tax return flub:

He’s also known for popular social media posts showcasing his outdoor lifestyle and family life:

He also received praise from conservatives and Republican activists for his speech at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio:

We’ll just have to wait for more information on Trump’s political future, but we eagerly look forward to turning another blue state red!
