BREAKING: ISIS Attacks Church, Hacked Priest To DEATH During The SERVICE!

ISIS Attack

The Associated Press is reporting that the Islamic State (ISIS) has killed a priest in the Muslim-majority country of Bangladesh.

The Hindu priest was “hacked to death” and beheaded. Two members of the church were injured in the attack late last night.

Police officers have confirmed that Jogeshwar Roy, who was 50 years old, was attacked as he came outside while people were throwing stones at the temple in the Deviganj area of the Panchgarh district (along the border shared with India).

This is horrible!

Quoting local people and witnesses, police officer Kafil Uddin said the assailants on a [motorcycle] attacked the priest with a sharp weapon, fired guns and exploded crude bombs, injuring two devotees who tried to help him. The attackers fled.

The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for killing the Hindu priest in a communique posted by the IS-linked Amaq News Agency on Twitter, according to the SITE Intelligence Group, which monitors online jihadi activity. The claim could not be independently verified.

Local Islamist radicals and the Islamic State group have in the past claimed responsibility for killing minorities and foreigners. The government denies that the Islamic State has a presence in the country.

Last year, seven people, including four atheist bloggers and two foreigners, were killed in separate attacks.

Investigators blamed local Islamist groups, including Jumatul Mujahedeen Bangladesh and Ansarullah Bangla Team, for the killings.

So much for the “religion of peace.”

This isn’t the first time religious minority figures and institutions have been attacked by ISIS in Bangladesh. In November an Italian Catholic priest was attacked in the north. In October, a Christian pastor was attacked in the northwest.

This is a breaking news report, and we will update it when more information becomes available.
