Bill O’Reilly Could returns to Cable News on Newsmax

Bill O’Reilly fans rejoice!

The former Fox News heavyweight is coming back to cable news.

It’s been rumored for months that O’Reilly has been gunning for a slot back on cable news. He was formerly in talks with conservative media giant Sinclair, but those talks fell through. Now, it looks like the hugely popular Fox News host may have found a new home.

O’Reilly will be coming back to the TV during his old 8 P.M. Eastern time slot. But instead of gracing the screen at Fox News, he’ll be featured on Newsmax TV.

Emily Smith of Page Six has all the details:

A year after O’Reilly’s abrupt exit from Fox News, where he was the top-rated host in cable news, the controversial anchor — who was forced out after the disclosure of sexual-harassment allegations and settlements paid to alleged victims — is in advanced discussions with Newsmax about developing a new show, we’re told.

Newsmax is also chasing other former Fox News talent — Greta Van Susteren and Eric Bolling have been approached to join as hosts of hourlong shows in prime time.

Bolling already has a deal with CRTV for a digital show.

Newsmax TV is trying to put together an evening lineup that will compete with Fox News. They’re even poaching more former Fox talent outside of O’Reilly, including Greta Van Susteren and Eric Bolling.

Here’s what a source told Smith: “The deals are not done yet, but talks are in the advanced stages, certainly with O’Reilly. The thinking is, following a 6 p.m. news show, Greta would anchor the 7 p.m. hour, O’Reilly would be back at 8 p.m., and Bolling could smoothly continue on at 9 p.m. Spicer and his cohorts would go on at 10 p.m., with the later slot allowing the show to be looser. But the deals are not yet signed and sealed.”

That would be one jam-packed lineup! Fox News’s triumvirate of Tucker Carlson/Sean Hannity/Laura Ingraham is powerful enough. But if Newsmax manages to net O’Reilly, Van Susteren, and Bolling, they’ll be able to give Fox a run for its money.
