Bill Murray Praises Republican Tax Cuts – ‘It’s a Fantastic Thing’

In a wide-ranging interview with CNBC, actor and comedian Bill Murray took a moment to praise the Republican tax cuts, calling them a “fantastic thing” and noting most Americans believed “there was probably too much regulation” anyway, something President Trump has successfully slashed at record rates during his first year in office.

“The change in the tax law is a great thing for the corporations, it’s a fantastic thing,” Murray said.

The GhostbustersCaddyshack and Groundhog Day legend compared the Trump Administration’s tax overhaul to that of a “high tide raising all boats,” adding he believes it has made things “easier.”

“I don’t pretend to understand what that will mean in the future in terms of the economy or what the budget will have to do to take care of what people call entitlements,” Murray surmised.

“In the first step, it’s made things easier. I think people feel like there was probably too much regulation, and yet you just hope that they don’t throw out the baby with the bathwater when breaking down regulations.”

Murray also slammed Democrats for using identity politics to divide America, something we covered here previously. It’s a story worthy of hearing again.

“My friend who’s a great comedy writer, Jim Downey, he’s accused of being a right-wing comedy writer, if there is such a thing,” Murray relayed. “‘No, no,’ he says, ‘I just think the way Democrats handle things is poor. They pick out little pieces of a population and say they represent it — we represent the Hispanics, we represent the LGBT, or something.’ They’re not speaking to everyone at once.”

“It’s almost demeaning to say I’m choosing you, because you’re a splinter group, there’s almost a resentment, to say you’re my people,” he added. “We’re being separated again by a politician.”

Liberals were almost immediately triggered by the Hollywood star’s understanding of reality.

A rare scenario in which an actor comes out and says something that doesn’t jive with the far-left atmosphere in Hollywood.

Good for you, Mr. Murray!
