I rarely watch Bill Maher’s HBO show, and I didn’t watch it over the weekend. However, I did get a chance to view the video clip below, and he nailed it on why the Democrats made a destructive decision to scrap Fox News as a medium for a 2020 Democratic primary debate.
But there are a few things Maher left out. There’s an excellent reason Democrats do not want to take tough questions about their policies. They fully realize that in the marketplace of ideas, theirs are long past the expiration date.
“Last week, the Democrats made a terrible decision when they announced that they had turned down Fox News’s offer to host one of their 2020 primary debates, saying that Fox was nothing more than propaganda. OK, so why not go on Fox News and tell them that?”
“You wanna be in the big leagues, but you refuse to ever play an away game? You don’t like the questions that Fox News might ask, so you’re deciding not to take any questions at all? How very Trump of you.
Republicans never shy away from coming on this show, and they come with a smile on their face despite knowing that the only people in the crowd cheering them on are the three campaign aides they brought with them … The audience is against them and they don’t care — it’s an opportunity to expose people to your side of the story.”
The problem, Mr. Maher, is not that they think Fox News is propaganda, but it is because the Democrats can’t answer honest questions with the truth, and when the truth is brought up they have no answer to give.
Democrats know that they cannot make rational arguments based on the Constitution. They don’t believe in it, want to destroy it, and want to replace it with a dictatorship by a socialist tyranny. They do not argue that they can take to the people except a packet of lies based on emotion. Fox News won’t accept that, and I can’t believe I am saying that.
In other words, they are empty suits. The only agenda they know is control and power damn the Constitution and the laws that have served this country well for 200-plus years. The truth trumps all and they know it, and it is like a Crucifix held in the face of the damned.
Conservatives (note I am not saying Republicans) generally believe what they say. They believe free market economics wins out over time. So, most conservatives are willing to go on leftist shows to preach it. Their position is logical.
I don’t think the current crop of Democrats believes what they preach. Do you think open borders is good for America or do you believe it is just for more votes and damn the consequences? Do you believe free education, free medical, free everything is really good for America? Or, do you believe that it just creates more dependent culture?
I believe the Democratic positions are not sustainable and long term bad. Guess what; I think most of the Democrat candidates know this. They don’t want to be pressure on it, so they don’t go where that is going to happen.
