Joe Biden’s former White House stenographer said his old boss’s public speaking ability has significantly diminished over the last four years and that the Democrats’ 2020 nominee is “not the same Joe Biden.”
“It is a complete difference from what he was in 2017,” said Mike McCormick, who was a stenographer for the White House and Biden in particular from 2011 to 2017.
“He’s lost a step and he doesn’t seem to have the same mental acuity as he did four years ago,” McCormick told the Washington Free Beacon. “He doesn’t have the energy, he doesn’t have the pace of his speaking,”
“He’s a different guy,” McCormick added.
McCormick’s book “Joe Biden Unauthorized” is an often critical account of the author’s time working with Biden.

McCormick traveled with Biden often in order to transcribe speeches, public meetings with foreign leaders, and private media briefings so that these exchanges could become part of the official White House record.
McCormick said that during his time with Biden, if he would forget something or get off track, he would typically just laugh it off.
“He’d just make a big joke out of it, and go straight from the hip. And notice, he’s not doing that anymore,” McCormick observed.
“He read that [Democratic National Committee speech] verbatim,” McCormick said.
“It’s not Joe Biden anymore,” he concluded.
McCormick makes a good point as someone who was up close and personal with Biden for an extended period.
How many gaffes and mind slips has Biden made in this election alone?
There was the time when Biden was trying to discuss riots and racial unrest and barely made sense. Ask yourself? Is this a video of a coherent man?
Here’s a video collection of Biden flubs including when he appeared to refer to the Declaration of Independence as “you know, the thing.”
There was that time the wannabe next president of the United States nibbled on his wife finger.
And he apparently likes when kids sit on his lap and pet his… leg hair?
We could also couple McCormick’s observations with something Biden said in 2013 about an operation he had decades ago.
Biden told an audience about his exchange with his doctor, “Well, I said, ‘Let me put it to you this way.’ It was a long road to the operating room. I said–this is absolutely a true story–I said: ‘What are my chances of getting off this table and being completely normal?’ He said: ‘Well, your chances of living are a lot better.”
“And I said, ‘OK. What are they?’” Biden continued. “He said, ‘Well, they’re in the 35 to 50 percent range.’ And I thought, well–seriously, I was a born optimist–I said, well, hell, that means 35 out of 100, 50 out of 100 make it.”
“I might as well be the one,” Biden added.
Biden finished, “I said: ‘What’s the most likely thing that will happen if I live?’ He said, ‘Well, the side of the brain that the first aneurysm is on controls your ability to speak.’ And I thought: ‘Why in the hell didn’t they tell me this before the ’88 campaign?’ It could have saved us all a lot of trouble, you know what I mean?”
Joe Biden laughed. But is it really that funny this man might have a chance of becoming the next president?
